It almost certainly happened on a kickoff.

But he's not injury prone or anything. And don't you dare say it. Or point out the half dozen times he ends up on the injury report every season. (not to mention all the practice/offseason injuries)

I'm starting to wonder if Webb should be allowed to compete with Ponder..

I want ponder to succeed as our QB.. he is saying and doing a lot of the rights things

his progression is not as far as I would like currently

After three days of training camp and one practice in pads? After a rookie season with no preseason at all? After being thrown into the starting QB role last year because the veteran they brought in was a complete bust?

Yeah, he should have a ring by now.

Everson Griffen just broke Lex Hilliard in half on a one-on-one pass rush. Wow. He let him hear about it too. #Vikings
Stephen Burton looks fine running, stopping, starting. Had been on NFI with toe. Eligible soon. Interested to see his reps. #Vikings
The Blair Walsh Project
Blair Walsh was just the ball in kickoff drill to the point I'm wondering if they were giving him an extra 5 yards or something. Strong leg.

How many games has Harvin missed in his career?

Some people just want attention and go about it by posting things like that IMO.

John Carlson - TE - Vikings

Vikings TE John Carlson is expected to be sidelined a few weeks after sustaining a sprained MCL in Tuesday's practice.

Carlson will be sent for an MRI to determine the severity, but the Vikings don't believe it's a full tear. Kyle Rudolph had already emerged as Christian Ponder's favorite target early in camp. Carlson's absence may serve to exaggerate that reliance on Rudolph, generating momentum heading into the season. Rudolph is knocking on the door to TE1 territory while Carlson is undraftable in fantasy leagues.

I think jackal was just reacting to the "notebook" article dead_poet had posted a little earlier, which mentioned that Webb had a good day and Ponder took a step back from the previous two days.

That's frustrating. I wonder if Carlson is going to be able to get healthy and stay healthy for the Vikes this year.

The Blair Walsh Project
Frazier put some pressure on rookie kicker Blair Walsh at the end of today's practice. After a full-speed, tackle-to-the-ground period between the offense and defense, Frazier decided to end the workout with a 44-yard field goal attempt. If Walsh made it, the offense would be considered the practice winner. If he missed, the defense would be crowned. Needless to say, the defensive players on the sideline gave Walsh an earful as he lined up for his attempt, which he made. "To finish the practice with Blair coming out and making that field goal with the defense razzing him and giving him a hard time, booing him and calling him names, that was a good, spirited practice," Frazier said. Loudest among the defensive players, as usual, was safety Jamarca Sanford. "A little SEC action going there, with Ole Miss [Sanford] and Georgia [Walsh]," Frazier said.

Frazier said he's been impressed with how Walsh has handled the pressure of replacing Ryan Longwell. Of course, the real pressure hasn't even begun yet. But, as Frazier said, "There's no looking back now. He's our kicker now."

This could be a major setback for Carlson - missed all of last year, new to the team and will miss all of training camp. But it's also a big opportunity for one or more of the backups like Reisner or Shuler. Sounds like the Vikings are counting on going heavy to the tight ends this year, so someone else beside Rudolph will be getting a lot of looks.

An MRI revealed John Carlson indeed has an MCL sprain, per a source. No tear. No surgery. Good news for #Vikings, but it'll be a bit.
