You can almost certainly rule out the Twins playing Texas, as the White Sox are almost gone from the wild card race, leaving only Boston as the other team with a long shot at the WC.

Oh DUH.. Man how did I 'f' that up. You are correct. For some reason I was forgetting that TB and NY were in the same divisoin for the second part of my statement.

Well, I meant Texas getting the 1 ssed, but that's almost more absurd since that basically means NY, TB, and the Twins have to have a huge collapse in the last couple weeks. Pretty much impossible.

I was meaning playing Texas in the first round at all, let alone at Texas.

Wake me up when they get out of the first round.

Expectations are a bit higher than another division title. Home field advantage would be a nice start!

With the Yankees loss last night, right now the Twins are the #1 seed in the AL. Of course, they have played one less game than NY, but still... it could happen!

Given the wealth inequalities in baseball, I don't treat the post season as more important than the regular season. To me, winning a Division in baseball is a big thing, not a mere stepping stone. Once you get to the post season, you've got to play teams like the Yankees that are essentially put together with steroids.

Let me put it this way -- 22 years ago I got married. And the night before, another couple hosted a big party for our friends and relatives. A lot of the guys huddled around the TV and watched Ben Johnson beat Carl Lewis in the Olympic 100. What we didn't know at the time was that Johnson was juiced. Now that we know that, I hardly feel that Lewis lost. And when the Twins have lost in the post season to the Yankees, I hardly feel that they've lost either. I just figure that the Yankees have cheated.

It would be great if the Twins can win the Series this year. But until baseball gets rid of its wealth disparities and as long as they play in a Division in which they at least have a more leveled playing field, I'll continue to treat the regular season as if it is at least as important as the post season. I don't think the same way about football.

Well, hopefully we take care of business tonight. Our last 10, ON PAPER, are a lot easier than the Yankees last ten, provided Guardy doesnt continue to field a AAA line up every day until the post season starts, we should have a decent shot at the best record. Which given the teams injuries, is really amazing IMO.

Well, that was a total butt-kickin of the Twins. If Guardy is going to just coast to the end, since we won the division, it'll cost the Twins in the first series. The line-up, again, looked like a AAA line up almost, not going to beat the Tigers at their field, with that line-up. I look for the Twins to get swept in Detroit, so homefield wont even be a worry.

Well Glen Perkins may have just pitched himself out of the postseason. I like Fuentes and Majares better.

What happened to Pavano? I hope he isn't going in the toilet now...
