I've heard good things from people who are comic book fans and from people unfamiliar with the comicbook.
I liked it. Nice neat, tightly written movie.
I worry that we're to getting to the point where it will be oversold, with the inevitable "everybody made it sound like the greatest movie ever made, it sucked because it didn't live up to my expectation"

I loved it too, Downey was awesome in it. Without his amazing performance the movie would have been very (yawn). Some of the action/special effects were a little lacking but I liked the story and the acting. Good thing those two things are by far the most important things in a movie to me, or I probably wouldn't have liked it.
It possibly is the best superhero movie, but I'm not sure if I'd put it above Batman Begins (can't wait for the sequel.) Other than that and the Xmen trilogy, the superhero movies kind of suck so there isn't much competition. I hated Spiderman, though the sequel was half decent (haven't seen number 3), the newer Superman was a disappointment; and most of the others were between bad and horrible. I didn't mind Daredevil though, even though it wasn't received well by critics or the public.
One of the few superhero movies actually worth owning!

Oh, speaking of Robert Downey Jr., if you've never seen Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with RDJ and Val Kilmer, I'd HIGHLY recommend it. It's hilarious. The writing is great, RDJ is awesome and Kilmer plays a cop called "Gay Perry." If you're a RDJ fan you won't be disappointed.

I thought spiderman 2 and xmen 1 and 3 were good. batman begins was ok...a bit marred by too much camera shaking and rapid cutting.wang_chi7 wrote:I loved it too, Downey was awesome in it.
