Two weeks ago we were celebrating an impressive win over Atlanta. Fortunes can turn quickly in the NFL. I wouldn't expect miracles but when a team goes 5-11-1 and changes coaching staffs, there are usually growing pains. Throw in all the other adversity the Vikes are dealing with and their 2-4 record, while disappointing, isn't surprising.

He is playing with no NFL quality RB and NO OL
Give him a real chance. Right now the best to hope for is that he is getting good experience during a meaningless season. ANOTHER meaningless season.......sigh......

I agree that Bridgewater is up against a lot. No matter how anyone feels about AD as a person, there's no denying he was a stud RB and the Vikings offense misses him. And the OL was disgraced yesterday. How can any QB perform under those circumstances?

As for the season being meaningless, if nothing else comes out of it but a wake up call about certain talent gaps on the team, then it's worth something.

Seriously? They guy was getting hit as fast as he was receiving the ball, I counted like 9 dropped passes yesterday. Bridgewater is not the problem, our O line has got to be one of the worst in the game. He didn't even have time to get through his first progression let alone try to make a pass or run, it really was that bad.

I've watched this team for a long time, and all I can tell you is things rarely stay really bad for long, nor really good for long, so you have to tough out the bad stretches and enjoy the good ones while they last.

You also can't judge Bridgewater yet. The guy is in his second start, and his last start was against the best defense in the league. The dude was sacked 8 times and under pressure on almost every snap. 2 of the 3 INTs were not his fault. He didn't handle it as well as we would have liked, but he has to have time to show if he can learn from it and improve on it before he is labeled a failure.

Actually, I'm not as down on Souhan as some are. He can be a bit much at times but I think he's done well this season.

His points in this article do a good job of clarifying the season as it's been so far.

It's a great read, and summarizes a lot of what I've been feeling. Honestly, this loss puts us in a hole that we desperately needed to avoid, but I still have faith that this season can turn around and next season can be awesome. Two years ago, the Seahawks started 4-4. We can hit that same mark, and we can continue to improve.

I'd say things never stay stable, but that applies really to the past 25-30 years. Before that, we had consistent winners. That's what I long for the Vikings to return to. But you're right -- no reason to abandon ship.

I was in California yesterday, marooned without Sunday Ticket, so I had to watch Red Zone. Since they focus on teams that are threatening to score, I saw a lot of New England yesterday. And a thought occurred to me -- if Teddy Bridgewater had the time to throw that Tom Brady does, we'd all have a very different outlook. Buffalo has one of the most ferocious front sevens in the game, and they didn't get close to Brady. It was ridiculous.

And it painted a very clear picture -- the Vikings need to fix the offensive line, or they're going nowhere.

So you've considered 'everyone' - even the backups? Or does your definition of everyone just mean the current starters? If it really does mean everyone, how can you evaluate backups who haven't played very much?

Id keep Ford too.
