Cuz we special. Hahaha. I don't know why the schedule makes slotted this in as a 3:25 game. We're going to win, by the way, guys. If you were wondering.

Starting 1-3 and 0-2 at home would be rough. I hope we can get the W as I think we have a chance to improve and make a push starting next week against a divisional opponent.

I think we get two picks today on defense. Matt Ryan is overrated IMO. And I hope this is the game that shows Teddy is the new face of the franchise.

On Gerald Hodges:
Hodges, who has played in nickel coverage when Anthony Barr moves to defensive end and fared well in run support last week against the Saints, could be in line to make his first NFL start. The Vikings selected him in the fourth round last year, but Hodges didn't see much action beyond special teams, and in his words, "I frustrated myself, just by not paying attention to details.

"I'm pretty much to blame for my own self last year, just trying to let my talent and athletic ability take over, instead of putting the time in on and off the field."

That's changed this year, as Hodges has made a point of sitting next to Greenway in meetings and learning as much as he can about how the ninth-year veteran approaches the game.

"I had the same thing when I was young," Greenway said. "You find guys who have had good careers, and you watch and see how they go about their business -- Ben Leber, and E.J. [Henderson], and a lot of guys that knew how to approach games. I've been the oldest guy for a while in that room, so I just try to lead by example. We have a great group of guys that are really talented. It will be fun to watch them."
EDIT: Also, maybe some insight into why Frazier and company didn't put him on the field as much last season. It's not always as plain as it seems. Sometimes the young guys just aren't ready, or doing what they need to be doing. Good to see that he is being diligent about his preparation this year.

As a matter of fact, I was wondering! Thanks for the info. :)

Speaking of that, I'm not sure if it's better for the Vikes if the Bears win today (which would put them at 3-1) or if GB wins. Will the Packers be more dangerous on Thursday night if they're 1-3 instead of 2-2, or does that even matter?

It matters ... we want the Packers to win. We don't want to face another team with an elite QB and its back against the wall on their home field.

What would be great is if Chicago and Green Bay could tie. Chicago would still lead the division, but when we win today (yeah, I said it), we would be in second place or tied for second if Detroit loses.

I am excited and anxious for Teddy Bridgewater today. The good thing is we are facing a sub-par defense. The bad thing is we seem to struggle against 3-4 defenses and our line has been playing poorly.

Ive a dandy of a good feeling about this game today. Mr Bridgewater will do well and inspire those around him to kick a little extra asp.
