 I think the most offensive part is the fact that they got married in Wisconsin.

I thought for sure she was pregnant because of the random, rushed wedding. I guess not. Maybe they just decided they couldn't wait a minute longer. Must. Marry. Now.

They are simple. Can't fault them for that. If they don't care--no one else should worry about it. It is still funny, though. Arby's and ugly sweaters.

You really have to wonder though. Does she really think he is going to be a QB after this year? Does she care? Or is he going to make enough as a backup to keep her happy?

Plus, what kind of guy take a girl out to Arby's on their Wedding night, no matter the situation and no matter what she says. I mean really, wtf.

She's a cheap date, lucky guy! It shows they have a sense of humor and don't give a ####. Think about it, wouldn't you like to marry a funny and down-to-earth woman like that? Or would you rather marry a self-centered drama queen who would throw a huge tantrum?

So now that the guy has his personal life all settled and isn't out chasing poontang, hopefully he can focus all his energies on turning into a legitimate NFL QB.

...they were in a hurry so they could enjoy that ugly sweater party. No time for fancy food! ;)

At the time of this, the joke was: This would be a wedding without a reception. True story!

Bro...This ain't HS where the backup QB gets no love. Backups and third stringers...Hell even kickers are married to some beautiful women. And it's obvious that they still make more than 90% of the population.

Ponder handled this relationship perfectly. He knew his career as a QB in the NFL may be short-term, so he took advantage of the time in which he was a starter by marrying her. Smart move.

My gal and I are getting BBQ catered at our wedding. Way to go Christian.

When the Ms and I lived in DT St.Paul we basically had like 2 food options. We were dirt poor and would drive 94E to White Bear Ave and do a thing called "Tour De France". Basically we'd sample items from all the fast food giants: McDs, Wendys, Arbys, and Sonic. Yep, we gained weight but we also got gym memberships. haha

Guys, y'all don't realize this but there are many women out there who don't want to have the superwedding nor be bridezillas. Back when DH and I got married (26 years ago) we had our wedding in his sister's front yard and the reception/dance in the party room of a local place in Hugo MN that was called The Texan back then. (I think the building now is a dog training school) The food was sloppy joes and standard side dishes catered by the Texan. The whole shebang including my dress was under $1600, and that included $500 to a really excellent local band called Handpicked. If anyone reading this can think back to the mid '80's country scene you'll remember them.

I'm just throwing this out there because there is a lot more to women and getting married than the over-the-top BS that is 'portrayed' as the norm. For the Ponders to just go get married and not make a huge production out of it is, IMO, very classy. Who cares where they went to eat so long as it's what they wanted to do?

I wish them the best. Marriage takes work from both parts with just regular people. It's much more difficult when one or both are public figures. Even tougher when one is a sports figure who gets bashed regularly, rinse, repeat.

Been married three times. First two had nice fancy weddings, all the guests, flowers, dancing, drinking, honeymoon. The whole nine yards. First one lasted 3.5 years, second one lasted 6.5 years. Third one, we got married in the courthouse. Went for Mexican food afterwards. 13.5 years and going strong. It's not the wedding that makes the marriage, it's the people who say the vows. All the fancy crap can't compete with pure honesty and love.

BTW, the Mexican place, is our favorite local restaurant. Still.

That must have made for an interesting wedding night.
