NO to the any guard in round one. Dear god...no! I can just sense this will be such a boring draft from Zimmer n crew.

Congratulations on graduating! I guess you dealt with that Frosted Flakes question effectively, eh? ;)

Goes to the highest bidder. In theory, that'd be the Ravens from your scenario. Honestly, the best would be to get multiple "bidders" for our pick and get +value for it.

It's like the media's ultimate wet dream, other than Tim Tebow and Brett Favre becoming baseball players for the Yankees and then curing cancer with the help of LeBron James.
I think you meant Tim Tebow playing for the Yankees and Brett Favre playing for the Red Sox so they could show Tebow vs. Favre on Sunday night baseball every Sunday night until October! :D

I just hope somehow we end up with Mosley, and if we can get some draft picks as well, Im great with that. If Not, Im also good with that. In Mock drafts, most of the time is has him going somewhere between 12-24, but in most big boards, where it just has player ratings in order, he is right around #10 in all of them. His only major knocks are injuries he has had in the past. Maybe some people are injury prone, but many of the injuries in todays NFL, it could happen to anyone. Its a violent sport and people who play hard get dinged up. To me, he is just one of those guys that changes the reputation and makeup of our defense. Sort of how Urlacher, Lewis, Kueckley, Willis and others have done for their respective teams. I can't remember a time we have had someone I could look at in the LB position on the Vikings team where I felt it was a strength of our team, and the opponents better watch out for this guy.

@AlbertBreer: Vikings have identified five players they'd feel comfortable with at 8. Club has talked to five teams about a trade down. Rick Spielman told me what he likes about being at 8 is Vikes should have pick of the litter at several spots -- CB, DT, ILB ... maybe QB. Vikes visited privately w/Manziel, Bridgewater, Bortles, McCarron, Mettenberger, Garoppolo, McCarron, Carr, Savage, Fales on their campuses. Of those nine quarterbacks, Vikings brought Teddy Bridgewater and Tom Savage to Winter Park to get answers on a question mark or two. The Vikings have since dropped the nine QBs in buckets ... Who they'd be comfortable with at 8, at 40, at 72 and so on.

I've been avoiding this board lately just to bypass all the useless bantering on speculated rumors, but now it's time, fellas.....

There's a few different scenarios that I can see today where I would be happy with the result, so I'm really anxious to see what happens. One thing I don't want is to see them go with Bortles or Carr at 8.

I also want Mosely. But I have a sinking feeling today that he will not be a Viking. As long as it is a comparable pick value wise, I'm good. :smilevike:

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.

If this really is as deep of a draft as the experts say more players in the first two rounds available to the Vikings would be as good as we could hope for.

I've been saying the same thing all week. Consider that quote dead-poet posted a few posts up. the Vikings have spent this offseason diligently checking out the QBs in this draft. I think the only ways they don't take a QB at #8 are if the player they wanted is already off the board or if they believe they can trade down a few spots and still get him or if they're convinced it's someone like Garoppolo and they can actually wait to get him.

I can't wait to see what happens.

My gut feeling is that Bridgewater is going to the Vikes at #8.

I'd love that pick. but I think we go defense first. my money says we go with gilbert and shore up our secondary. luckily I don't have to actually put my money on it.

The more I have tried to figure out Minnesota's intention tonight, the more convoluted it becomes. Honestly, my gut is saying it is going to be Anthony Barr or Teddy.

Everyone at CBS as Minnesota taking Aaron Donald. Interesting.
