Khalil has been as spotty a player as could be. Is he currently doing a good job,yes. Has he shown ANY indication that he is a long term anchor, NO. My only point is that a good GM will trade players WHEN THEY HAVE VALUE...its the only way to get value...holding on to players too long is not the best policy.

So we trade him away and have no left tackle?? Sounds like a good idea. He's our best lineman right now. The last year or two he's been banged up. Now healthy, you can see how good he can play

Without mentioning member's names (you need only check on the Kalil Topic) I think it really sucks when certain posters message the same crap over and over again and more often than not are proven to be quite foolish.
Kalil sucks, Ricky is an idiot, L Joseph, what a wast of money, he sucks too. Blah blah blah

Yeah those guys that hated on Kalil, Joseph and Munnerlyn all last year are AWFULLY quiet right now. As for Spielman, you've seen that a lot quieter as well now that we are 4-2. Guess he's not an "idiot" after all

Harris has played well. It's not Harris. It's Clemmings. Watch where most of the pressure is coming from in the run and pass. It's from Clemmings whiffing or simply not holding his block long enough. I've been very impressed with Harris at guard this year. Berger I agree with

Clemmings is definitely the Oline's weak link. He's struggling in both run and pass blocking. There has to be a veteran out there where the VIkings could just plug him in and solidify this line.

To add onto my above comment regarding Joseph, Zimmer said in a recent press conference that he believes Joseph is one of the best NT he's ever coached and thats unlike Zimmer. It's starting to show that signing him was a great move by Spielman and this coaching staff. Being in his second year within this scheme, you've seen how much more comfortable he is.

look at howsucessfull organizations trade, and we havent been one in a long time, know when to trade players at the right time. Khalil is a failure that the organization wont admit....I would trade him in a heart beat. Most everyone else is VERY tradeable. Look at what Dallas did the the Vikes with a big trade for what was the "Best RB in football".....We were gutted for years and they went on to win SuperBowls. Successful teams trade players that are good and about to get BIG contracts...you get good young talent that is cheaper and benefit for a few years. Thats the way it works. You cant be sentimental or expect a player who is really good to spend a whole career with your team. Their contract will balloon and take your team down. I think we all hesitate because we have no confidence that Spielman will get the better end of ANY deal. The one team that we worked some magic on is Seattle and that has been so-so...more that we got rid of many potentially expensive Headaches (literally in Harvins case).

The salary cap era is far different then the era in which the Walker trade occured, and even then, not many teams would have payed that much, you actually think AP could pull in the same value? Uh, no. You guys would be lucky to get a 2nd round pick.

Also, the ####? The Harvin trade is seriously the absolute best trade scenario you could hope for within the realm of possibility, how was that trade 'so-so'?

The Vikings need Kalil. The OL is already suffering. Why make it worse by trading an improving young talent like Kalil?
