Adrian Peterson is simply an exception to the rule. He's worth the money. He's not just a tactical weapon, but a strategic one. Since he's been gone, we have seen what our offense looks like without him... utterly impotent.

the reality is that the league rules in the last 4 years have been TOTALLY slanted towards a passing offense. A heavily run oriented team is NOT very likely to win it all. The game has changed. I grew up in Chicago hating "Bears Football" , ie off tackle left, off tackle right, rinse and repeat...ad nauseum, and learned to love the purple and gold at age 7 because this little insane skinny guy named Fran was scrambling and playing a vertical passing game. Somehow, the Vikes flipped things and pinned their hopes on an old school formula of RB centered Offense precisely when the league changed things to make that a completely out-dated plan......I hate to see AP go but this might just be the situation that forces the Vikes to confront reality and catch up to the rest of the league. Soon we will have 3 wide outs 6'11" and a tight end who is 6'7", and run bubble screens all day....no FB, and a QB with more running yards then the TE/RB....
