Rick like to stick to "his" board
Seems like more of a Zimmer pick then Rick wanting him. I starting to wonder about Zimmers knowledge of safeties.

I don't know, man. Is that the earliest a kicker has ever gone? A second-rounder seems kind of nuts. Good thing their first two picks were solid.

Kickers drafted in first 2 rounds past 25 years:

2016, Roberto Aguayo: 59
2005, Mike Nugent: 57
2000, Janikowski: 17
1992, Jason Hanson, 56

And this is why the Bucs are the Bucs. If you're the Seahawks or Patriots, okay I kinda get that. But you're the Bucs, c'mon you don't get to make luxury picks like that.

Yeah, I haven't given up hope. :) Mainly, I'm just surprised Zimmer would want a shorter corner since he's made it pretty clear he prefers taller players at that position. He must really like this kid.

Most of what I've seen, some are labeling him the second coming of Janikowski. Though people do make crazy comparisons when it's a player they really like.

I'm guessing the technique, attitude and competitiveness trump the height at the end of the day for Zimmer. And yet all things being equal he'd take the taller guy.

As soon as the pick came in my brother text me, he's a really big Chiefs fan and apparently a lot of guys on their forum wanted Treadwell and Alexander.

If he has a career like Janikowski has had, he'll be well worth the investment.

Do we still need a kicker?

Just wondering what the deal is with Blair Walsh.

Blair is a good kicker. We're good and will not draft a kicker.

Punter? I doubt it but it's more likely. Perhaps as an UDFA.

from PFF

23 (54). Minnesota Vikings: Mackensie Alexander | Grade: A
No. 21 on the PFF Draft Board, Alexander is strong in man coverage and his movement skills allow him to stay with shifty receivers. The Clemson scheme did him no favors from a grading standpoint, but he allowed only 0.66 yards per cover snap, good for 10th in the class. He struggles with zone concepts at times, missing tackles in open space, but Alexander is a good pick at this point in the draft.

Braxton Miller still on the board, right? Not that I'm advocating but I thought maybe he would've been drafted by now.
