Damn Packers got Montgomery who was my pick for a mid round steal. They always seem to do well with their WRs...

Re: 2015 NFL Draft thread
Interesting, I was hoping for defense. This could be the beginning of a very formidable unit, that's exciting.
Seems like every year Spielman picks a kid who is a freaky athlete but has yet to figure out how to play.
Frustrating not to get a plug and play at guard...but as others have mentioned, there may be a vet option still in the works. I'm concerned that the FO is not seeing the guard spot in the same light many of us are in terms of it being a liability. Maybe they are comfortable with he guys they have plus whatever later round kid they grab. That wouldn't sit so well with me. But it's likely more about not having the right guy at their pick.
I'm glad they didn't make a play for one of the RB/WR guys...and I think the Hunter pick is indicative of just how serious they are about getting pressure on QBs and being responsible(depth-wise) on defense. With the presumed return of AD, this team is actually loaded on offense and will go as far as the line allows IMO.
La'el Collins and Tre Jackson(I think) are still available too... though given everything that has happened with AD I can't see any way they pick Collins regardless of his innocence or lack thereof. I think that sucks for everyone.
Glad this thing has finally come and gone.

Re: 2015 NFL Draft thread
There are still some interesting prospects out there
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000 ... -prospects
Highest graded prospects left
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/tracker#d ... nd-input:4
Here's a few who sound interesting.
Grady Jarrett – DT – Clemson, not a need but BPA may kick in and make him too good to pass up
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/ ... id=2552327
TJ Clemmings – OL – Pitt a combination or being really Raw and Medical issues dropping him, foot injury - Was projected as a 1st or 2nd rounder. 4th might be a bargain
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/ ... id=2552365
Josh Shaw – CB/FS – USC
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/ ... id=2552259
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu – CB – Oregon
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/ ... id=2552257
Tre’ Jackson – OG – FSU – Medical concerns seem to be dropping him, some concern over his knees. Didn’t miss many games at FSU though
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/ ... id=2552349
Mark Glowinski – OG – West Virginia
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/ ... id=2552467
Shaq Mason C/OG -Georgia Tech
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/ ... id=2552563
Tony Lippett – WR – Michigan State – Played WR and CB, He gets praise for his Versatility and high football character. Maybe he caught the Vikes eye when they were up there studying Trae Waynes?
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/ ... id=2552427
A couple of RBs – Although with it looking like Peterson is coming back I don’t know how picking up a RB would effect that. It could instigate more tension or it could get him and his agent to shut up if they realized the Vikes had options.
Jay Ajayi – RB – Boise State – Was project to go 2nd round Medical concerns are pushing him down. Pretty talented guy though.

David Cobb – Minnesota

Re: 2015 NFL Draft thread
I am not attempting to be insensitive here, but, I hope we take a chance on La'el Collins. I understand the magnitude of the situation and the tragedy, but, the kid could be innocent yet. It seems to be that everyone is just assuming him to be guilty without proof.
I also hope we take a chance on Ifo Epkre-Olomu. That guy has the chance to be the actual 'steal of the draft.'

Re: 2015 NFL Draft thread
Agree with you on Collins. As it stands right now, he isn't a suspect in the case; condolences to the young woman's family. His situation's different from say, a Randy Gregory and he's a 1st round talent and we need help on the O-Line.HardcoreVikesFan wrote:I am not attempting to be insensitive here, but, I hope we take a chance on La'el Collins. Re: 2015 NFL Draft thread
Surprisingly quiet around here this morning.
Seems like most folks are happy with the Kendricks pick, and at least in "wait and see" mode with Waynes and Hunter.
I think a lot of us were hoping for a day one starter for OG in the 3rd (Marpet, Cann), which would've sealed this draft as a definite success... it didn't quite fall right, so Rick did what he does: accumulate picks. This should make for an interesting day 3.
Who are some players or positions you'd like addressed today?
I kind of wouldn't mind Bryce Petty (QB, Baylor) as a 3rd stringer to develop behind Teddy. He has somewhat inflated number due to Baylor's air it out offense, but he throws an accurate ball and has very nice NFL size.
I'd like a shotgun approach to the OL--invest a few of the picks there and hope that one works out. Safety would be nice for some depth too.

Agree on both fronts. But man, we'd have a ton of DBs. Saw some scuttlebutt about Josh Robinson at safety. I don't hate it.HardcoreVikesFan wrote:I am not attempting to be insensitive here, but, I hope we take a chance on La'el Collins. Re: 2015 NFL Draft thread
@AlbertBreer: Per the NFL, if La'el Collins is drafted, sits out the year, he can enter the '16 draft. If he goes undrafted, he can't enter the '16 draft.

I don't think that is true. It doesn't sound right. But who knows, maybe it is a loop hole...

Re: 2015 NFL Draft thread
Man this just isn't a very deep draft for OL.
I hope we stay away from Tre Jackson and Arie Kouandjio. Big, way too fat and very limited athleticism. Apparently Jackson failed multiple physicals in his private workouts due to chronic knee problems.
Wouldn't mind taking Daryl Williams. Played RT at Oklahoma but can kick in to OG. The 4th is probably too high for him but maybe he lasts to the 5th.

With that said, if he is still there in Round 6 or later, I wouldn't mind picking him. It scares me now that the baby died though. That could be an ugly, ugly situation (I mean the legal battles... the situation itself can't get much worse...)

Re: 2015 NFL Draft thread
Carolina traded up for Daryl Williams and not T.J. Clemmings. That speaks volumes as to how teams value Clemmings.
