Parsons should go top 5, definitely top 10, he's the best defensive player in the draft. But weirder things have happened, especially with a handful of QB's that will likely go higher than they should. I'd be pretty upset if we passed on Parsons, he's not a huge immediate need but he's a guy that can do everything. His size and speed make him an every down LB.VikingLord wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 11:54 amMicah Parsons is the LB I'm thinking might still be on the board at #14.
If so, I could see Spielman entertaining trade offers more than taking him there.
Although Parsons would be good value at that pick. Watch his highlights and read up on his player evaluation (I like the WalterFootball player evals as they get updated throughout the college season and offseason before the draft, plus they maintain player evals from prior drafts so you can look back and see how accurate they were in their evaluations of players who have been in the league for a while. Generally, they've been pretty good at calling the ball on strengths and weaknesses).
The draft is really about improving the overall talent level of the team. While the Vikings might not "need" a LB, they always "need" better players at all positions to succeed as a team. So if a guy like Parsons is there, and he's an obvious improvement over what you have and the best value at the spot you're selecting, the wise GM takes him barring getting better value in trade.
Parsons would merit some solid trade back offers, though, and I think Spielman would likely accept one of them in that scenario.

Another breakdown of what he does well still. It seems he has definitely lost a step but I have to believe the Vikings already knew this. Just don't ask him to be Primetime and he should be fine.

I was very impressed with his press conference and I feel extremely confident that he will be a huge leader for this defense. Imagine if they could bring in Fitz as WR 3 and the impact he could have on JJ.

I am glad Vikings are not bringing Larry in, I am sick of fans begging Larry to sign with Vikings just because he is Vikings ball boy as a kidMaelstrom88 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 2:00 pm I was very impressed with his press conference and I feel extremely confident that he will be a huge leader for this defense. Patrick said he is going to stay at cornerback so it looks like Vikings are drafting a safety

I sometimes think you just enjoy being miserable and shooting down everyones hopes. I would 100% be all for signing Larry. It would be near vet minimum, he grew up a Vikings fan and even at his age, he'd be better than any #3 we currently have. No less he is another big time leader in any locker room. People dont want Fitz just because he was a Vikings ball boy. Fitz is one of the best WRs to ever play the game and the definition of a leader on and off the field. Try smiling for once and not being so bitter about everything.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 1:01 pmI am glad Vikings are not bringing Larry in, I am sick of fans begging Larry to sign with Vikings just because he is Vikings ball boy as a kidMaelstrom88 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 2:00 pm I was very impressed with his press conference and I feel extremely confident that he will be a huge leader for this defense.
