If it's true, I don't really see it as a big deal. Sage is a never-has-been, and would he really keep the team afloat if Ponder goes down? Let's just face it, this team doesn't have much of a shot this season anyway and it makes little difference who the second and third string QBs are
I wonder if they are delaying their cuts until the last moment. It makes sense for a team to do that if they suspect that some might get snapped up by other teams (say, Asiata/Todman or the odd man out at TE). Maybe we keep Todman as a runner and Asiata as a blocker if there is a big supply of decent TE's let go today - then we can cut Reisner or Shuler (if he's still eligible for the PS) or both and still have access to one/both of them.
Of course, the bottom line is that there is a time that all the cuts have to be made, and they can't wait past then without facing some kind of sanction from the NFL.
None of those four clowns are going to be on the roster in a few years anyway so really doesn't make any difference. They love Webb for whatever reason, and have proven pretty clearly they have zero idea what to look for in a quarterback.
I guess the only difference is it might have been watchable if Ponder went down with Sage at quarterback. Watching Webb pretend to be a quarterback is pretty bad football. Maybe move Harvin to quarterback at that point...or just direct snap to AD.

Not sure what difference it makes, don't they get until tomorrow and have to pass through waivers? Unless our front office is just smarter than all these other front offices.
