Born in 64, a Vikes fan since approx 4 yrs old.. HARDCORE since about 5 or 6 so it's been WAY too many F.... wait I won't say it. Way too many years of heartbreak. The only constellation today is that we didn't get screwed by the refs, and we can honestly say that the Niners were the better team all the way around.
Wait.. screw that.. that may be true but I've been pounding Stouts and now Founders Black Pennance, the least alc content of them have been 9.9%, so my acceptance of the loss is alcohol driven. So I now realize that tomorrow not only do I have to again face the pain of the loss, but will feel like a half dead possum that ran thru a meat grinder with a shocking hangover.
But for now I'm seeing 2 teams Titans beating 2 teams of Ravens, on only 1 big screen. So at least the brew is working.
OOOOOHHHHHH the pain and agony of being a Vikings fan. But.. if I'm still alive, I will be back next September dreaming away.

Here's where I'm at...
The offensive line is a bigger problem than Kirk and should be easier to fix than trying to find a superstar QB to offset a bad offensive line. But none of that probably matters as long as Zimmer is our coach and giving opponents clear blueprints on how to beat his defense.
49ers were better than us today but not "completely dominate" us better than us. We just underperformed. I blame it mostly on coaching but other culprits could be overall execution, offense not staying on the field, short week, or defense not being able to stop the run.
Needs for the draft:
2-3 OL (hopefully 1 starter)
1 high ceiling QB
1 slot WR
Would love if Zimmer was fired and Kubiak took over but I don't think that's gonna happen so I'd like to see a Zimmer-coached team with a great offensive line finally.

Sad but true with this coaching staff, OL and QB.
Blame the QB all you want. Not many QBs walk into New Orleans and beat the saints on their turf in the playoffs. And it didn’t require a lucky miracle or obvious pass interference for it to happen.
Cousins isn’t the problem. This OL is terrible. Our DTs are weak. Our CBs have imploded and the coaching has been questionable.
If cousins holds us back as much as you try to claim, I can guarantee you we wouldn’t be beating the saints in OT in the playoffs that’s for sure.
I didn’t say he was the problem but part of the problem that’s holding back this team..you can hang your hat on the NO game if you’d like.

What a shocker, we lose and the cousins haters flock. Kissing his as# or silent last week but here you are this week.
This is the only part of your post I will address, as the rest is just delusional nonsense.
People didn't come on here to rip Cousins after he had a great OT TD drive...because he had a great OT TD drive and helped us win a playoff game. Even though "Cousins could win a SB and people would still rip him" and is in a "no win situation", it turns out that winning actually put him in a winning situation. Shocking how that works.

Then we could have a worse defense and the same offense that failed to score more than 10 points. Sounds like a winning plan.

With the talent we have on defense, it'd be really difficult to be worse. I feel like even a mediocre coach would get better production out of these guys. Just an opinion, though, and we'll probably never know. What's the most creative thing he's done on defense the past couple seasons? Moving Griffen/Hunter inside against the Saints? The announcers kept saying today "Zimmer's got them right where he wants them" and then the defense did nothing.

Funny, but the 14-2 unstoppable Ravens are losing by 16 at home.
We lost by 17 on the road.
It happens. It sucks, but it happens.
To me, this season wasn't as fun as '17, but certainly not as frustrating at last year. It started with a lot of promise against Atlanta. It looked like we were going to be a dominant rushing team with a potentially dynamic passing game to back it up. Then we got to Chicago and looked terrible, which caused me to throw in the towel on Cousins. Then he turned it around and had a really good season. He won me back, especially after that overtime drive against the Saints.
But we always seemed to fall just a little short. Even in our wins, it seemed like all phases weren't working. I always thought, "If we could get all three phases playing like they're capable, we could be dangerous. Against NOLA, we did that and shocked the world.
Unfortunately, we had a Chicago-like game against San Francisco, and those old frustrations bubbled to the surface again.
After the Seattle game, I honestly didn't think we were true contenders. We had the Seahawks right where we wanted them, with a chance to catch the Packers in the division race, but slipped into the maddening play that often characterized the season. It only took one quarter, but it was enough to blow the game ... and any shot at a first-round bye, which we needed desperately.
I don't think Kirk Cousins is the problem. Some cite his lack of mobility. Jimmy G is a pocket passer ... he's in the NFCC Game. Ryan Tannehill is a pocket passer ... he's likely going to be in the AFCC Game. But those teams have excellent O-lines. We don't. Many times, our O-line was dominated, especially on the interior.
Unfortunately, I think our "window" is closing, especially on defense. The other day, NFL Network showed the 2017 Minneapolis Miracle game. The thing that stood out to me was HOW FAST our defense was then. Go back and watch the first half of that game. Our guys were terrifying. They absolutely swarmed to the ball at all positions (kind of like SF did to us today). In just two years, we've lost steps. It was obvious watching that game.
We can probably contend for the division next year, but until we get better on the LOS on both sides of the ball, we'd have to get really lucky to make a Super Bowl. You guys know me. I'm as optimistic as they come. But we're getting old. We need a re-tool, if not a rebuild.
By the way, for those who think this is a passing league ... the Tennessee Titans are about to get to the AFCC game, and they've thrown for fewer than 100 yards in both their playoff games. And you wanna see some garbage-time stats? That would be Lamar Jackson tonight.
Sorry for the random thoughts. Just a lot on my mind tonight. I love my Vikings with a passion. But this team just didn't have it. Without some big changes, we won't next year, either.

He’s not the sole reason we win or lose.

The Vikings have been in the NFC championship a number of years since the super bowl years. The two years they had a great chance and should have won were 1998 and 2009. What did they have those years? Game changing players. Moss and Farve. They don’t have that now.

Of course they wouldn’t come on here to rip him after that drive. They just stay silent because he just shut every single one of you up for the 10th time this year. So wtf do you say? You have nothing to say. Can’t even admit you were wrong about him, you just hide. But then, a loss hits and the haters come back from hiding. He could’ve thrown for 300 and 3 tds today and lost and I 100% guarantee guys would be on here criticizing him. You’re all quick to point the finger at him, but disappear when he proves you wrong.
But I guess this is all just a bunch of delusional nonsense that I’m defending the guy that got us here. Maybe I should be defending Rhodes and this OL right stump?
