This offense is going to be pretty impressive if they can find a QB to lead it!

Interesting about Evans. I'll be focusing on him quite a bit in the next game.
1. What was the most impressive performance you saw in Week 1 of preseason?
Sam: I’m torn between a pair of defensive tackles on the same team who together saw fewer than 25 snaps in total. Fred Evans and Sharrif Floyd for the Vikings were completely dominant for as long as they were on the field. That’s somewhat expected (if welcome to see) for first-round pick Floyd, but just another marker for Evans to say he should be starting at nose tackle for the Vikings.
4. What are you looking forward to watching most in week 2 of preseason?
Sam: I’m curious to see how far up the Vikings depth chart at wide receiver Cordarelle Patterson can force himself. He has players sitting above him at the moment, but I can’t see a sensible football reason that would keep him outside of that first team 3-wide formation, given what we’ve seen so far. Another preseason game is another chance to prove that.

I have trouble believing that Simpson is currently ahead of both Jarius Wright AND CP84. We'll see who shines in Buffalo.

I'm hoping the WR depth chart looks like #1 Jennings, #2 Wright, #3 Patterson #4 Simpson #5 Burton. Wright made too big of an impact and played too well last year to not get that spot. Simpson hasn't done jack and sure some of that is the injury but when everyone else has to "earn" it...

I'm just hoping reflects the ability and performance of the receivers. I suspect most of then will get to play anyway but I have no problem with Simpson starting opposite Jennings IF he's earned the job and plays like it.

So, I finally got to see this game and some things I noticed that haven't been mentioned much:

This team has some serious speed on both sides of the ball. I was surprised at how quick Burton looked, especially returning kicks.

The RB Randle can play, I don't care how tall he is. He would make a pretty nice 3rd down option behind this line. He had great block on a blitz too. Toby looked like Toby and will be solid behind AD.....but if Randle and Line keep showing up I'll be bummed to see either of them cut. Line reminds me of Sauce.

I didn't see anything from Simpson that suggested lack of effort or that his play was lacking. The pick was bam bam play, Ponder got thumped as he released the ball.... i don't believe JS had a chance. A bad break it was tipped right to a defender. The first catch by Simpson was a nice route and good effort after the catch. All of two plays....I can't dog the guy.

It looks like they have good problems at WR and RB. Spielman said this will be the toughest squad to cut since he's been here.....I believe it.

I also liked the unis, especially the helmets. Maybe just cause the're different. And the numbers looked fine after the first qtr.

dislikes?

I'm truly worried about the secondary and LB.....but hopefully that will be put to rest when all the starters are in the game.
