Great bounce back win on the road today against a pretty good team, although one that is reeling. I LOVE that we had two interceptions of Matt Ryan. Also, can we give a little love to Xavier Rhodes and the Vikings secondary, holding Julio Jones to 5 for 56? Also, if not for Matt Ryan throwing 80 garbage yards at the end, we'd have held them to next to nothing yardage-wise.

Beautiful team win today.

Barr was a total stud today ... Newman with the drive killing pick...

honestly they only scored three points against us.. the last touchdown was garbage time...

THe OL only had two real bad plays .. Fusco on an inside run block .. released and Peterson
got stopped for a loss...

Clemmings had a wiff on a pass rush as welll..

I thought OL and recievers had great run blocking down the field..
The OL also held their blocks much better in pass protection.

They'd have won 35 to 3 if it weren't for Norv.

How was the INT and missed FG Norv's fault?

Come on guys, I am not happy with Norv either, but first, we won, and second, Teddy and Blair had some very key mistakes.

Its not the INT and the missed field goal...they clearly could have scored a lot more points in general with a better play caller, deeper passes, quicker developing passes, a younger OC, especially one who cut his teeth on the VMB, and the defense wouldn't be impacted at all.

a great win for the Vikes!
incredible play by the Defense as a whole, especially considering we were playing with 2 back ups at safety.
AP carried the offense, again.

Wallace was invisible...was he a scratch?

Teddy continues to show a weak arm. His INT was a pass into coverage that MUST be thrown with velocity, and he seems to have none. We are winning despite him, which is a feeling I frequently had with the Ponder years.

I dont get the freq criticism of Norv. Atlanta couldnt stop AP so he kept up a steady diet of AP carries. AP DID get winded and had to sit for a bit. He cant play EVERY down.

Deep passes would be great, but we have a QB incapable of it and Mike Wallace was AWOL today. Norv used his best available reciever, a rookie, and used him doing what he is best at, short-middle routes run very exactly. His QB IS capable of little passes so thats what he calls....

Mike Wallace has to start catching balls.

The journalist at least has an excuse.

Zimmer's post-game talk in the locker room:

I forgot that he had a bad experience when coaching with the Falcons. I'll bet this game did mean a little extra to him.

Bah. Just shows that those sticky WR gloves need to seriously be reined in. There are essentially no rules governing them and they're like freaking velcro. Put a hand or even 3 fingers out and whap, like glue. They're stickier than Lester Hayes with the stickum on the old Oakland Raiders of the 70s & early 80s.

Do that with bare hands, or even non-sticky gloves, then get back to me...
Buy a few dozen pair for the Vikings then please. Give half to BBII (Walace).

Seriously, though, great game by AD!

This is so wrong.

Teddy's mistake was that his weak pump fake didn't get the safety to bite, yet he still threw the ball. Throw that ball 100 mph, and it still gets picked. Had nothing to do with arm strength. In fact, the only chance he had of completing that ball would have been to loop it over the safety with LESS velocity.

I'd rather have Teddy take a chance at a TD and fail than continue to dump the ball and settle for field goals.

I agree on the INT. Good read, needs to sell the pump fake better.

Not sure about the taking a chance part. The Vikings defense hasn't been able to get many takeaways this year (not including today) so a single turnover could be the difference in the game. I think they were ranked #28 before todays game.

Completely disagree on chicagopurple's comment. Bridgewater makes critical plays when needed. That 3rd down pass to Asiata basically sealed the win for the Vikings.
