Well that's good but a lot of it is short intermediate routes. I'm talking deep ball accuracy
Teddy has a lot of the same skills as Montana and similar arm strength.. IMO we need to run a lot of
slant routes and screens.

When Teddy starts scrambling out of a clean pocket from phantom pressure and stops looking downfield when he does scramble, that's when it'll be clear to me. If you ask me, waiting for routes to materialize proves the pressure is clearly
not getting to him.

But as I said in the post to which you're responding, one of the ways I see pressure getting to him is that (at times) he's
not waiting for routes to develop and he's checking down or running even when he has time.

I'm not sure if he has the same skills as Montana or not but I agree that we have to run some quicker routes

They run quite a few of them already. Maybe more are in order but I think Teddy simply has to demonstrate that he can do more on a regular basis. An offense that can't sufficiently threaten the middle of the field and throw downfield is ultimnately doomed to mediocrity or worse. It's just too easy to defend a team when the defense realizes there's little to no downfield threat.

I just see TB as being too cautious and tenative when pulling the trigger.
Empty the backfield...make him throw the ball.
If they weren't challenging for the division, we might see more deviation in those regards...but it is what it is.
Ultimately coming up short will for the nned to change...these tougher teams on the schedule may be just what the Dr ordered...but it may be painful to watch.~

I would like to see what he could do if our line could keep the pocket clean for even a second more than they have been giving him .Watching him he wants to go to his third read but is lucky to have time to find his second read.

I understand what you're saying but there HAS been a lot of times where he does have that time to go through his reads and he isn't making the throws

Coincidentally, the times when he has had a nice pocket have been when fewer guys rush and more guys drop into coverage. It seems like our guys are covered pretty well and Teddy chooses the safe route when this happens which may just be what the coaches ask of him.

And at the same time, I can't imagine those WRs are that blanketed all the time. He's just taking the conservative route

@Andrew_Krammer Good problems today at Winter Park. Munnerlyn said Zimmer told defense to close better: "Would've been nice to win 20-3"

@christomasson Mike Zimmer on Adrian Peterson getting lots of carries: "That's kind of the style we're playing right now. That's who we are.''
christomasson Mike Zimmer: "The one thing I always admired about my dad is he would change year to year depending on what type of team he had.''
@christomasson Who would have been the next safety up if Exum or Blanton went down? "We didn't have one,'' Zimmer said.
@christomasson What about Terence Newman playing some safety? Zimmer said: "We'll leave that alone until it happens.'
@christomasson Mike Zimmer on Anthony Barr: "I think he's progressing really well. We can continue to do more things with them to make him more dominant.''

@murphPPress #Vikings defenders talk often of imposing their will. Zimmer: To me it (means) not giving them an inch. We’re going to out-man you today."
@christomasson Captain Munnerlyn on Mike Zimmer: "It’s hard to satisfy (him). We're going to have to have the Super Bowl trophy in our hand to satisfy him"
