Cold is temporary. Purple Pride is forever.

My understanding is that the usage strength can be regained the biggest issues are trust in the knee and Tensile strength reduction . IE. He will potentially be able to drive with the same force as before no problem but first he needs to trust it completely so he doesn't subconsciously favor it (I remember AP saying it took him quite a few games before he was cutting at 100%) and that the risk of injury will go up exponentially per time it is injured. If he cant stay off the ACL injury carousel he should have good luck

Thanks for that info.

They sure are being coy about those other ligaments. It makes me wonder if they were all torn.

Anyway, "the repair was excellent" certainly sounds promising!

Sure, but do they ever say "the repair was horrible"? :gone:

originally they said dislocated knee and acl...

how bad was the dislocation ? reversed or something ??

I mean like twenty or something NFL players get ACL a year right?

makes me wonder what is being left out...

I would like to know how an injury like the one Bridgewater suffered can happen without contact. I almost wonder if he didn't already have an issue in the knee, perhaps even one he wasn't aware of, and he just pushed it over the edge. If so, I wonder if the surgeon could see evidence of that during the repair and if that was the case, were other components of Bridgewater's knee impacted by having to compensate for whatever wasn't right before it gave out completely.

I still suspect the move to get Bradford wasn't just about this season. I think there is more behind this injury than the Vikings are letting on and I think the move to get Bradford has as much to do with that as simply wanting to save this season. I hope I am wrong on that and Teddy comes back stronger than before, but something tells me there is more to this than meets the eye.

I've wondered if there was something going on with the knee that left it predisposed to such a severe non-contact injury too.

Spielman has said that getting Bradford for 2 years instead of one was part of his appeal (or something along those lines) so I think the trade is clearly about more than this season. Right now, I'm viewing Bradford as the team's QB of the present and near future. Maybe more than that... Bridgewater's probably facing a long recovery and then he'll have to get back up to speed as a football player. Between that and his contract, it's hard to say at this point what the future holds for him as a Viking.

I think actions will speak louder than words in the next 18 months... I am sure Zimmer and Company are not going to broadcast anything
they don't have too...

Just a weird thought. If there are no complications with his recovery and we make the playoffs, there will be a near game day (health wise) ready Bridgewater on the sidelines with the team during our playoff run, in fact the superbowl will be about a week or so short of his clearance date, again assuming a smooth recovery and there were no secret covered up injuries.

It's great thought but my gut says he's racing to be ready for week 1 of next year or even a PUP candidate. It's a severe injury.

I'm under the impression he's looking at a 9-12 month recovery period.

I think it varies, it I dont mean to imply he would be ready to go or anything. But from everything I can read 6 months is around the time the Doctors say "be careful but go have fun!

Maybe for an ACL but I don't think that's the case for the kind of surgery he had. Maybe HardcoreVike can help with more info this but I from what i've read, Teddy's looking at more than a 6 month recovery period.

Has there been anything definitive about a timeline now that the surgery passed? The "2 day to 2 months" quote was the last I read.
