I don't think he's very well known outside of Minnesota. But I'm pretty surprised as well. There are a lot of teams in need of a competent pass-catching TE. All the better for us.DK Sweets wrote:Whaaaaat? I definitely thought somebody else would pick him up.
@christomasson Eric Kendricks is doubtful for Sunday. He said he will make the trip to Oakland. Expect Brandon Watts to start, with Chad Greenway in middle

I wouldn't to be an offensive coordinator going up against him.dead_poet wrote:

@GoesslingESPN Mike Zimmer didn't think Bridgewater is holding the ball too long. Said he counted 10 plays Bridgewater turned from bad to manageable.
@Andrew_Krammer Zimmer: Injured hand bothering Anthony Barr "a little bit. But yesterday be sucked it up. Last two games he's sucked it up."
@DerekWetmore Mike Zimmer not interested in style points, after hearing team called 'least impressive' 6-2 team last week.
@DerekWetmore "If we're not impressive and we keep winning, more power to us." --Zimmer on the Vikings.
@DerekWetmore "You know, it’s a t-shirt. You can go down to the store and print ‘em up. It’s not a big deal.” --Mike Zimmer, true to form.
He's really looking to keep that chip on his shoulder, isn't he?dead_poet wrote:

Zimmer calls the plays.Mothman wrote: I wouldn't to be an offensive coordinator going up against him.
Does Zimmer call the defensive plays? I keep wondering how much credit we should be giving poor, overlooked George Edwards. He must have something to do with the defense's success, right?
I've thought about that too. Norv is done as a head coach and Edwards seems unlikely to get tabbed as a HC candidate. We could have these guys together for a long time. The younger Turner and younger Zimmer might be the guys most likely to move on.PurpleKoolaid wrote:I wonder what Edwards does then. I guess just run the practices, and learn from Zimmer the plays he should be calling when the time comes. Would be nice to have stability with the coaching staff for more then 3 years.
Thanks. I thought so but I couldn't remember with certainty.S197 wrote:Zimmer calls the plays.
I was hopeful that the Younger Turner and Younger Zimmer would stay with the team, eventually ending up as the OC and DC. Then having one of them replace Zimmer down the road. I know it's a pipeline dream and unrealistic. But I has hopeful that we could grow our own coach.fiestavike wrote: I've thought about that too. Ravens just signed him.dead_poet wrote: I don't think he's very well known outside of Minnesota. But I'm pretty surprised as well. There are a lot of teams in need of a competent pass-catching TE. All the better for us.
