Worse defense...and Lovie not around with his puppet offensive coordinators sucking it up. We're going to be murdered.

The 2009 team was better and that was with Brett Favre leading the offense and they couldn't win in Chicago. In fact we've only won 2 games in chicago since 2000. And in that 2007 game, Peterson had 224 yards and 3 TDs, so unless he makes a repeat or similar performance the vikings will be very hard pressed to win.

They just have to execute. They tend to step on their own feet in Chicago. For example, last year I think there were at least 6 dropped passes in that loss (and that's not an exaggeration).

One thing going in the Viking's favor is Chicago's defense is not nearly as tough as Detroit's front four. If the Vikes can get the running game firing, there is a chance they can come out of there with a win. And, as much as I like Trestman, I am not sold on Cutler being consistent, yet. If "bad" Cutler shows up, all bets are off.

I can't predict a win for the Vikings at Soldier Field. The Vikes will keep it close enough so that the Bears don't cover the spread, but that's as far as I can go.

IDK if it is legal, but it does hurt when you pee.

I remember that game, it was a close game that went into overtime. The Vikings had that game won but shot themselves in the foot when Peterson fumbled the ball. And what made that loss even more terrible is that we were 11-4 and the Bears were 6-9, we were the favorites to win.

That game just goes to show you that anybody can win. The odds were in our favor but that didn't guarantee us a win. Just like it doesn't guarantee the Bears to win this sunday.

We also had Childress for a coach. That effectively neutralized any and all advantages we otherwise would have had...

I remember that game well. It was Brett Favre's "F*ck You Childress" game.

The offense, which had been absolutely pathetic the week before in an embarrassing 26-7 road loss at Carolina, was once again awful in the first half at Soldier Field. One horrible play call after another, a continuation of Childress' genius from Carolina, coupled with inept execution put the Vikings in a 16-0 hole at the half. But in the second half, Favre gave Brad Childress the metaphoric finger, audiblizing on virtually every play and racking up 30 second-half points. An incredible throw and even more incredible TD catch by Sidney Rice along the left side of the end zone brought the Vikings to an improbable 30-30 tie with just a few seconds left in regulation.

But then in overtime ... AP fumbled, and some retread WR named Devin Aromashodu somehow got behind Antoine Winfield for a 39-yard TD. Vikings lose. Again. We thought so much of this Aromashodu cat that we signed him, after which he proceeded to do absolutely nothing.

Yeah, love playing the Bears at Soldier.

In jon skrotem we trust. But in all seriousness, buzz lightyear, the bears have this one in the bag. Not because the bears will earn it, but the vikings will simply give it to them

That was one of my favorite games. It was essentially the point where I knew without a shadow of a doubt that Childress was a joke. I mean seriously, 30 points in one half after Favre had had enough compared to the 7 points of the previous 6 quarters! Unreal! I still remember Favre audibles out of a childress run, throws a TD pass, and Chili just looked PISSED, like he was going to murder Favre. And after a TD pass no less!

Larry Fine has the best bear jokes.....

Moe: "What's that for" (pointing at bear trap)
Larry: "That's in case we meet up with a bear"
Moe: "Meet my bare hand" (smack)

and

"Once upon a time, there was three little bears, Max Bear, Bunny Bear, and Bugs Bear. Now bear in mind, these bears were never bare, because they ran around in their bear skins, BUT in their bare feet. SO, the three bears went skipping and frolicking hither, tither, and yither, without their mither and fither, skip skip skip...."
