Wide reciever is one of the hardest positions to transition from college. Its a difficult position to evaluate for that reason. You rarely get a "sure thing" and there have been dozens of greats taken in later rounds to go along with dozens of flops taken in early rounds. CJ is as close to a sure things as the league has seen for some time at WR. Everyone after that is a roll of the dice. Ginn, Meachem, Bowe, Davis, Jarrett, Smith, Gonzalez...who knows. Personally I like taking a reciever in round 2 given the high probability for a bust in round 1 and the fact that IMO Smith and Gonzalez are as sure as you can get at WR after CJ. Maybe neither will be great, but I feel confident that both will be good. In the first round I want a guy who has a high ceiling and a high floor, someone who thrived in college, performed great in their workouts, has good character, and demonstrated tremendous instincts and skill at the senior bowl...

You know the raiders would still draft him after that happened
though.

 Well, I was drinking a soda (or something like that) when I read this and yes it did go all over. Great post Mike. :beerock:

For some perverse reason I'd love to see the Lions trade down and end up with Ginn. Every draft it's Millen and overrated WR's. Go together like a horse and carriage

No, he's getting Calvin Johnson. The 7th time is the charm, right?

I sure don't think WR Roy Williams is overrated. The guy is ultra-talented. Sure wish he was a Viking.

Get him and Paul williams later in draft....I even like Anthony Gonzalaz or Smith with our second round pick after Meachem in the first at say 12 after a trade with Buffalo for Peterson....
Exactly my point! Smith and Jackson the new Carson and Johnson! I just don't think we really need Peterson on this team. :)

I agree. He's an excellent WR.

Maybe considered a "bust" as the franchise QB of the Vikings but Mr. Jackson has done quite well for himself IMO. He has a Super Bowl Ring, has made millions of dollars in salaries over the years, is healthy and playing for the Super Bowl champs. If that is a bust then sign me up 'cause a whole lot of better QBs, over the years, have not fared nearly as well as T-joke.

Keep on snarking

You have any idea how many NFL QBs have made as much as he has? Or have super bowl rings?
And Pete Carroll also traded him to the bills for a conditional seventh round draft pick less than two years ago.

What is your point :? What does it matter how many other NFL QBs have made more money than him.
My point is that he "landed on his feet", got a Super Bowl Ring, is playing on a world championship team and has been very successful and that strangley seems to be funny to you. And how many QBs in the history of the Super Bowl era have rings?
