Not take away from the defensive performance, but the Bengals have a history of playoff disasters on Offense. When they get up against a playoff defense they struggle. Biggest take away is we have a playoff defense, but that isn't really news.
I still find that tweet rather impressive, regardless of context. That's not just "a decent day." Whitworth was out but the Bengals traditionally field a talented offensive line and have talented skill players (we also played without Waynes, Newman, Kendricks sand Floyd, so it wasn't as if we were at full strength). Dalton was a stud last year prior to injury. I'm not going to get too carried away after one scrimmage but this jives with everything we've heard about the front 7 this year so far in 2016. I like evidence and the sample size growing, differing and producing the same results, which is encouraging. I'm excited to watch this defense when it counts.

Here's a little more info about how the defense fared against the bengals:
http://www.startribune.com/zimmer-s-def ... 389814201/
Led by defensive end Everson Griffen, unblockable at times during training camp, the Vikings would have sacked Dalton at least six times had they not let up in accordance to the rules on contact agreed upon by both squads. On one third-down rep, Griffen schooled second-year Bengals left tackle Jake Fisher by quickly walking the youngster straight back into Dalton’s lap.
“I think I did [give Fisher an education],” Griffen said. “It was fun, man.”
Fellow defensive end Brian Robison, outside linebacker Anthony Barr and nose tackle Linval Joseph were among those who holstered Dalton, “the Red Rocket.” On a few other occasions, Dalton was forced to flee but found safety. And when he did throw the ball, he did not find much success deep down the field.
The second-stringers were often in the Bengals backfield, too, and rookie cornerback Mackensie Alexander picked off Bengals backup AJ McCarron.
“We were just doing good as a whole. Everything was going well,” said cornerback Xavier Rhodes, who on one early play nearly intercepted Dalton. “Man, those guys competed. We competed. It was just a great practice.”

And that'll do it for practice. The Bengals' offense wasn't very impressive Wednesday, and the Vikings' offense was rough in two-minute today.

I hate seeing this...
I think Teddy makes a big leap forward this season, but practice/preseason or not, something they lacked that held them back quite a bit last year was a lack of a killer instinct...Two-minute, redzone...Just get it done, please.

And that'll do it for practice. The Bengals' offense wasn't very impressive Wednesday, and the Vikings' offense was rough in two-minute today. A few overthrows and underthrows from Teddy Bridgewater. Also, Bengals seventh-round rookie Clayton Fedejelem ended the practice with a pick of Minnesota backup QB Shaun Hill.

New day, same problems for #Bengals offense vs Vikings. 3 completions, 1 for any significant yards in red zone drill. Multiple drops. Ugly.
So with Brandon fusco out today I imagine he won't play tomorrow

Nice read, thanks. Sounds like the battles to watch in preseason are at S, LB, and C. At this point, I'm hoping they don't keep a FB. Line was far from impressive last year and it doesn't sound like Renaud is doing much either. Seems like Morgan could do fine if they need one but AD doesn't care for FB's anyway so it seems like a bit of a roster spot waste.
I also liked this little gem:
If they really want a FB, they need to use Asiata. He is a beast in pass protection and would make a great lead blocker for AD and McKinnon.

I like using Asiata or Morgan at Fullback ...especially Morgan it sounds like he is a great blocker and has
(as per Norv Turner) possibly the best hands on the team... Let him smack guys move out 3-5 yards and
kill teams in the play action and screen pass ....

Noticed this at the end of the article
– Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater looked sharp during our brief time watching the Minnesota offense. He mixed in a number of pinpoint passes at the intermediate and deep level, throwing with precision through zones and showing good touch on the deep ball.
Sounds like the Vikings are having a good camp so far. What's wrong with getting a little excited about that?

Agree.....I just don't see the value of keeping Line on the roster. Never showed much imho

Shurmur likes using a spread offense which would cut back on the need for a fullback. We just have to see how involved he gets in the play calling.
But I wouldn't be opposed of getting rid of Line.
