A year off to condition his body and make him angry just screams "beast year" to me... It just doesn't seem like the right time... I could be wrong. And hopefully whatever happens will be for the best, but count me as one who doesn't want to see AD in another team's jersey.

But what I'm saying is his value is at its highest it will ever be right now. If you think he's going to net more next year if he has a big year this year, you're wrong. Everyone is going to look at his age. He wants out and he wants more money that he doesn't deserve IMO. He's owed even more money next year I believe which means it's even less likely for a team to trade for him.

This year he's owed about $13 million and will be 30 soon. Next year he's owed over $15 million and will be 31. That's much less appealing. Is he really worth holding onto for 1 more year? Are we going to win a Super Bowl with or without him? No probably not. So does his "beast year" really matter? No. That's why he should be traded now. Get the best you can for him while he's hot

F*ck that. If that's the case, I'm making it clear that Peterson will play in Purple in 2015 or not at all.
ESPN - where misinformation, misconstrued information, and flat out BS will be counted upon as credible news. Give me a #### break.

@CharlesRobinson If #Cowboys let DeMarco Murray go, Adrian Peterson would be interested IF Dallas guaranteed at least $25 mil on deal that is basically 3 yrs

Vikings have a way to prove they really want Adrian Peterson

... and according to PFT, that way is guaranteed money.

Yeah who is Peterson to negotiate a new contract? How about he honors the one he signed which says he has 3 years left!

So dude plays one game last year then gets suspended for a pretty awful decision that hurt his coaches, teammates, fans, organization, and everyone else involved. The team puts on exemption list so he can get PAID to sit on the couch. All season long and this offseason zimmer and Spielman, like a broken record, support AP? After all that HE wants more guaranteed money? Are you joking? That's some lousy BS if you ask me.

I want to see AP in purple this year running dudes over as much as anybody, but cmon man!

No way Rick trades him for a 4th rd pick , unless he gets Patrick Peterson from the Cards, or Vontae Davis from the Colts with the draft pick.

@ArifHasanNFL Pelissero: "I talk to one person, I think Peterson is going to get traded, I talk to someone else and I'm sure he's going to stay."
‏@SigmundBloom From @TomPelissero - Peterson met w Wilfs and Spielman yesterday. Sure sounds like they are trying to keep him:
@ArifHasanNFL Pelissero has mentioned with conversations with a lot of people in the know, and is totally lost on the direction the team will take.

So for costing the team a season, publicly embarrassing the franchise, and beating a child with a stick, we should give our overpaid, 30 year old running back who hasn't played since 2013 a raise? No thanks.

Tom Pelissero is reporting that Peterson flew to NY yesterday to met with the Wilfs. To me that would be more likely to indicate that he's not being traded anytime soon. Never heard of a player flying cross country to met with team owners only to be traded the next day. What's the point of doing that? That stuff is handled by GM and players agent. If the Wilfs are meeting with Peterson it seems more likely that it's a continuation of the "hand holding" that Zimmer and Ricky did last week in Houston.

I suspect that Peterson's uncertain suspension status is probably putting at least a bit of a chill on other teams making making credible offers (along with Peterson's outsized contract). The appeals briefs are not due until the end of May. It's at least within the realms of possibilities that Doty's decision is reversed and then the NFL decides to hammer Peterson with a multiple game suspension.

Perhaps Peterson and Dogra are seeing limited interest in teams willing to trade for him, especially his preferred teams (Colts are going to sign Frank Gore) and that's the motivation for AP to fly to NY to allow the Wilfs to do some sucking-up.
