It would have been nice to see CP get some more plays the past few years. I dont trust Norv, I dont think he knew how to use CP. OTOH, CP never had much WR time in college, and if he makes the inactive squad, we may not even get a 5th for him. Its kind of sad.

There was a recent podcast on 1500 where Morris let it slip that Patterson is frequently highlighted in Mike Zimmer's media education sessions (those are supposed to be off the record) for being completely clueless. It would help explain why the media narrative on Patterson is so unanimous and specific, and yet they don't even bother with "sources". Morris also lit him up for going down easy on kick returns when it isn't wide open. Take it for what its worth.

@Andrew_Krammer #Vikings strong safety watch: Antone Exum spotted w/ Harrison Smith as they began group drills. Likely short leash for whoever starts.

Zimmer's post-game press conference after the Vikings defeated KC:

I really like the answer he gives around the 7:12 mark when asked about the next step for this Vikings team.

@christomasson Mike Zimmer said the #Vikings are learning things about being in certain positions that will help moving forward. Says "good team win.''
@christomasson Mike Zimmer on Captain Munnerlyn playing better: "He's doing what I ask him to do pretty much.''
@christomasson Mike Zimmer said Sharrif sometimes "thinks too much" and he's a better player when he just lets it loose. Zimmer said Sharrif Floyd is sometimes too much a "pleaser.'' Needs to just react.
@christomasson Charles Johnson said was close Sunday (ribs) “I just wasn’t feeling the way I would be to be up to where I want to be so I decided not to go
@christomasson Mike Zimmer said he has not decided if Stefon Diggs will remain a starter.
@mattvensel Zimmer on if CJ can get Wally Pipped: "You don't lose your starting job due to injury but you do lose your starting job due to performance." Zimmer wasn't saying specifically that Diggs has stolen Johnson's job, but that's his philosophy.
@christomasson To win on the road, Mike Zimmer says the #Vikings need to start faster, control the crowd noise, get some sacks, among other things. And, of course, protect the quarterback better on the road. Bridgewater has been sacked 12 times in two road games this year.
@christomasson Mike Zimmer says the #Vikings need to run the ball better, no doubt. But sometimes when teams are keying on it so much helps Vikings.
@christomasson Mike Zimmer said he thought T.J. Clemmings improved on pass protection but didn't do as well in running game as he hoped.

@christomasson Mike Zimmer doesn't know anything about NFL investigating Everson Griffen situation. "All I know is the guy was sick because I saw it.''

This is odd. I recall the booth guys interviewing an official who said they defer to the coach, which made it sound like if a coach requests a measurement they're given one. So...what gives?
@christomasson Mike Zimmer said the officials wouldn't give him a measurement on the play in which he challenged the spot (and lost challenge).

Did it have to do with the play clock being too low at the time Zim wanted the measurement? (I don't exactly recall, but I thought someone mentioned something to that effect).

From Pro Football Focus, "In fact, the folks from Pro Football Focus inform us that only four left tackles in the National Football League have a longer streak of not allowing a sack than Kalil does. It has been 313 snaps since Kalil last allowed a defender to register a sack. Considering that last Kalil allowed more sacks than any other left tackle in the league last season, to see him go this long without allowing one is a welcome change. He might not be all the way back to his 2012 form, but everything we've seen so far in 2015 shows that he's trending in the right direction, at the very least.
For all of the naysayers that had given up on Kalil due to last years performance (HE PLAYED INJURED), and lambasted Ricky for a wasted pick, it seems as though it might be Crow eating time

Wonder how much of this is due to moving Fusco over.

Or how much of it is because Charlie is gone.

It was nice getting rid of Johnson and certainly Fusco is a much better player but I have zeroed in on Kalil's play and he looks outstanding in pass protection this year.
