Nate Washington - WR - Titans

Sources tell NFL.com that the Titans are shopping WR Nate Washington.

Washington is a gritty veteran and team leader, but he's owed $4.2 million in 2013 base salary. It's a lot to pay for someone that will play well behind both Kenny Britt and Kendall Wright. If the Titans can salvage a late-round pick for Washington, they'd be doing very well.

Wow really? I mean I know he's old. But he's not yet 30. Makes less than half of what any big name would make. And I'd put him right there with Amendola and any other non-Jennings/Cruz option. Throw a late round at them and at least we have one competent (I guess?) receiver. I'd rather have him out there then Simpson...well, I'd rather have quite a few guys. But at this point I definitely wouldn't be blurghing at him!

Word is Greg Jennings is still hoping for Mike Wallace money. #Vikings aren't playing that game. Maybe when the price comes (way) down.

He's always been a middling receiver in the 40-50 catch range and 500-700 yards. He's a solid #3 WR at best (maybe a weak #2). Of course, anything is probably better than what we have. Although I think a healthy Simpson is about the exact same guy.

#Vikings are continuing to keep busy on several other free agents. Not high-profile guys. But they are working late tonight.

Safety Glover Quin is visiting Detroit. If he doesn't sign a deal maybe he could hop over to Minnesota for a visit.

I wonder who that entails? I wish Tom had a name.

I'll guess Vikings, Ravens. RT @ProFootballTalk Danny Amendola is down to two teams and will take visits. Trying to find out the teams.

Amendola is intriguing but seems like he gets hurt all the time. There's a reason the Rams aren't resigning him. Maybe if it takes a few days for him to sign and his price drops he can be had for cheap. He could be a pretty good player, like if he took over Welker's role in NE I think he would excel in the same way.

Nate Washington isn't that exciting, but #### if it only took a 6th rounder to get Boldin then obviously the highest you'd pay for Washington is a 7th and that still seems like too much. Maybe toss 'em the 7th rounder we got from Seattle?

:wallbang: Can't see us progressing at all next year the way this has gone so far. All you had to do was look at Musgraves play calling sheet from last year... announcers laughed. Now you take Percy harvin out, which was 25% of the plays, plan on adding a rookie or two wr corp and except improvement? I know we went on a winning spree without harvin, but A.p was also averaging over 150 yards per game. My biggest worry it hearing this improvement and delvopment word year after year until Peterson retires....or barry sanders it.

Might be tough to beat out the SB Champs but Amendola would be a nice pickup. Wouldn't mind if we went after Goldson either, I think that'd make for a heck of a secondary tandem.

Don't underestimate Amendola. I would be very happy with that signing.

I agree. The Vikings don't have a bunch of #3s and #4s. They have a rookie, Simpson and a couple guys that should be on a practice squad IMO.

They need competent, tough, team players with good hands.

The best part about Jennings, Wallace and Cruz is the guys they had throwing them the ball. Not that those receivers aren't good, but this team (Vikings) has more than one fish to fry here. It makes absolutely no sense to be all panicked about finding a superstar wideout when we really have zilch at the position to begin with.

They shouldn't force anything or overpay for anyone. I don't believe we are a team that is a Mike Wallace/Victor Cruz away from the superbowl.

Find some solid depth at every position and cut the dead weight from the roster. Build the team long term. We will get our #1 WR at some point...it doesn't have to be this FA period.

Michael huff a good grab?

Post by UKno1VIKING »

I could not believe that the raiders have got rid, surely he must be our premier target now. There are plenty of decent WR's being released who wouldn't take take up as big a chunk of the salary cap.
Huff would be a great addition!
