IMO, it is more about leaving MN, the place where AD's family experienced a sharp decline in public opinion, than the destination. Just my .02.
I get what you're saying and love the T-Shirt Cliff

I too lived in Texas for a few years right next to Carroll high school (my brother's drivers ed partner was Saints kicker Garrett Hartley, if you can fathom that...)

Also great to hear things are going well, honestly just want one of the dramatic segments to end pleasurably for once instead where the player comes back and puts in work as oppossed to going somewhere else and becoming washed up (Harvin, Rice, etc)

I think AD and Felton backing up Teddy would make this offense go given the experience Teddy now has. If Ponder game managed them to 10-6, with less on defense(IMO), TB could do at least as well.
If they can hammer out a deal and find some plug in players for the defense and LG this team is looking good IMO.

I want this to be a season of vengance and a precursor to a legit superbowl run in the new stadiums inaugural season.

Looks like a run on RBs could be in the making...
RB Pierre Thomas released via his agent "@CLamontSmith: It's official now. PT no longer a Saint but forever a part of the Who Dat nation.

Interesting...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... went-well/
By agreeing to meet face-to-face with his head coach and by not cutting it off before four hours passed, that’s a very good sign for the continuation of Peterson’s career in Minnesota. Coupled with the Vikings’ apparently willingness to pay Peterson the full $12.75 million he’s due to earn in 2015, it could be that Peterson will let bygones be bygones and return to the franchise with which he has spent his entire career.

One source with knowledge of the team’s thinking believes that’s exactly what will happen. While it’s too early to call it a done deal, there’s suddenly some reason for optimism that Peterson will be wearing purple come Week One.

“I appreciate Rick [Spielman] and Coach [Mike] Zimmer coming down to see me today,” Peterson said in a statement issued to Josina Anderson of ESPN. “We had a great dialogue and they were able to understand where I was coming from and concerns my family and I still have. We respect each other and hopefully the situation can pan out so that everyone involved is content.”

By using the phrase “still have,” Peterson’s statement suggests that Wednesday’s meeting failed to resolve them.
So, did this meeting really accomplish anything?

I assume it brought to light whatever issues exist and gives Spielman a chance to plan his moves accordingly. They had to find out what they could about his desire and all that.
Would have been interesting to be a fly on one of those walls.

Hopefully, it led to a greater understanding between everyone involved and that could lead to a reconciliation and to Peterson playing for the Vikes this year. I certainly didn't think one trip and one meeting was going resolve everything but it likely did some good.

Following Wednesday's meeting with Vikings brass, Adrian Peterson issued a statement saying he "still" has "concerns" with returning to the team.

Vikings GM Rick Spielman and coach Mike Zimmer flew to Peterson's home in Houston. "I appreciate Rick and Coach Zimmer coming down to see me today," Peterson's statement reads. "We had a great dialogue and they were able to understand where I was coming from and concerns my family and I still have. We respect each other and hopefully the situation can pan out so that everyone involved is content."

Who knows what they even talked about. It was a 4 hour meeting so something important must have been discussed. They could have easily talked trade possibilities, contract possibilities, etc. I highly doubt they walked in, watched a movie and ate popcorn.

Even if that is all that happened, that would be great.

Bingo. If Spielman is going to trade him and get real value out of the trade, any potential trade partners have to be convinced the Vikings really want him back and are willing to honor his contract as written. So the visit publicly demonstrates their desire to bring him back, and they should still make a public statement saying they will pay him what his current contract dictates. That sets the table for discussions with possible trade partners.

The McCoy deal is worrying, though. McCoy basically was shipped for nothing, and if that indicates what the market for highly productive running backs now is, Spielman is going to have a hard time getting a pack of chewing gum in exchange for AD, and that's even if AD is willing to restructure prior to the deal.

I am sure that there was talk about trade, restructure, his role within the offense now that TB is there etc.,But I am certain that the first words out of Rick's mouth was "come on AD, no beating around the bush or WITH A BUSH anymore, let's take care of business.
