We're not exactly busting at the seams with cap space. And if the cap is $30 million to $40 million less next year, as some are predicting, we're going to have some difficult decisions to make.
OTC has the worst case 2021 cap scenario right now, and simply cutting Reiff will get us under the cap even with Cook's deal.

We will lose good players and not be able to make the team better in FA, but that was going to happen whether we extended Cook or not.
