I hope you are right Kapp. This game gives me indigestion more than any game in our schedule. There was a lot that went on with the redskins front office and in particular with Bruce Allen that never got aired. There will be a lot of emotion on both sides of the ball. For a lot of reasons I want the Vikings to rip their heart out. Can you believe Bruce Allen would never call Kirk by his first name, even when he was corrected. It was always “Kurt” which infuriated the fans and players. Many more stories but I’ll leave those alone.
This is one game I hope you are right.
I’d love to have them show Snyder and Allen in their suite fuming 😤

The thing with buffalo, is they actually had (and still have) a very good defense. Washington is good at nothing. I don’t see this as a trap game at all. And I can guarantee Kirk is going to have a fire under him given it’s his old team.

I say 35-10 Vikings
They had a good defense and the Vikings had a major distraction right before the game. Very different circumstances with this game.
Agreed. No less, the first drive of that game we force a 3 and out but on 3rd down Linval gets a roughing the passer. They score that drive. Then Riley Reiff got dominated all game by Jerry Hughes and caused two fumbles. They scored once and got a FG off those TO's. We were down 17-0 and ran (from what I can remember) 4 offensive plays. Sounds somewhat similar to the GB game this year.

Looks like Hughes may be returning the punts. Sherels has been released

Yep. I suspect they'll promote Davis or Mitchell from the PS to take the empty spot this week.

Next week, it will probably go to Holton Hill, although I believe Doctson will be eligible to return too.

One thing is clear, Kirk plays extremely well when he's pissed. I cant imagine that chip on his shoulder falls off before Thursdsy. He will want to destroy Washington and I think he and this offense will.

I think that will be a factor also. I'm sure he like to stick it to his old team, even if he says all the right things. The beauty of being a QB is he'll have all the opportunities to do that.

And I hope he sticks it to Snyder and Allen good. If it wasn't being classless and stooping to the Skins front office level, it would be great to destroy them, then have Cousins pic up on all the big screens in the stadium and play the song.. now I'm a metalhead so I don't know any country music at all, but play the song that one of the county stars plays " How do you like me NOW", or whatever the title is.
That would be great finishing touch.

Everson and Linval DNPs again today. Not sure what it means with a game in 2 days, but hopefully at least 1 of them can go. Extra rest ahead...need the W.

I hope Keenum gets a standing ovation.
The Redskins are like Wile e. Coyote, if they tried to set a trap it would blow up in their faces. Believe you me past players and coaches they let go always have a way of coming back to shred them when they play them.

I've read so much this week about what these guys have to do to get their bodies ready in four days -- and it all comes on top of studying film, going to meetings, practicing, etc. It's just a stupid money-grab for the league, made at the expense of the players. Somebody on the radio the other day suggested they lengthen the season from 17 to 18 weeks (still 16 games), with two bye weeks, and if you play on Thursday, it has to be against a division opponent (so no team has the disadvantage of jet lag, like the Vikings at LA last year), and both teams must be coming off a bye. It'll never happen, but it sure seemed like a good suggestion.

There is no doubt in my mind that we should win this game, and we should win by a large margin. We're significantly better than Washington at every phase, and we're at home. The sticking point for me, though, is the players' bodies and how they recover. I know that Washington has to do the same thing. But it's just a crapshoot when you start factoring in recovery, especially when it comes to linemen and linebackers, guys who take a beating. If Reiff or Linval or Barr somebody is just a little off, not injured per se, but just not fully recovered, things can get weird. Get a matchup of a recovered body against a body who's struggling, and anything can happen.

On the positive side, home teams win about 70% of Thursday night matchups, historically, with very few upsets by heavy underdogs (I think the line is Vikings -14.5). There's enough data to suggest there are reasons for it, although I couldn't begin to guess what they are. Bottom line, we should win this game against a severely overmatched opponent. But I'll be holding my breath just a little.
That's all correct. We are lucky in that we are playing a team that has nothing. So if we have guys that haven't recovered we should be able to use backup players and still be ok. The guy who subed for Barr one week played dam good. If Barr is slowed play him. That goes across the board. Guys then get some playing time. I seen the Pats do that against the Jets. The Jets layed down right from the start. Didn't care. Couldn't compete. Were I think it may get tricky if the skins bring this kid in to play at some point. If it's close he could provide an up lift. I would imagine we will try and shorten the game. With AT out that might be the best approach,

Probably just giving a couple of older guys a break on a short week. Even if they can't go, we should be able to easily beat the Skins without them. If we can't, we should start the tank right now because this is not a SB contending team.

I have a love-hate relationship with Thursday games. On one hand, as an NFL nut, I love having more games to watch throughout the week. I don't have NFL ticket anymore (cut the cord 6 years ago or so), so I don't get to watch many games on Sunday. But, honestly, most of these Thursday games become unwatchable very quickly. It's generally just bad football more often than not. So, to be honest, I kinda wish they would do away with most of them, because I'm losing interest in them. Last year they had some good games, but I don't recall any this year, but maybe I'm forgetting some. Thanksgiving games are great tradition still, but overall the product is generally worse on Thursday than Sunday. But, money talks, and you're correct that the players get the worst it.

I actually really like that radio proposal, and I think both the viewers and the players would like it better too. I think it would drastically improve those Thursday games, but yeah... it probably would never happen for some reason. I would think the NFL would be okay with expanding the weeks, and adding more income. The Fantasy Football community wouldn't know what to do with themselves with all those byes!

I am loving this weeks game , not only because the Vikes are playing, but tomorrow is my 55th birthday, so I have a vacation day Friday. I also have some Limited Edition Stone Brewery Bitter Chocolate Stout that I bought at the Richmond Virginia brewery a little over 2 yrs ago when we stopped there when my daughter was living there. The guy told the ppl buying it that if they could be patient and store it and let it age at least a year it would be even better. Said 2 to 3 years would be best. So I am hoping tomorrow night it will be enjoyed with a Viking Victory.
