I have watched Jaylon Smith quite a bit and read his draft reports he sounds and looks
like he is going to be an all pro in the NFL. I would gladly give up the majority of one
season for guy like that. That would give us the best linebacker group in the NFL for the next
five seasons.

I think that we can be that with Darron Lee, Deion Jones, Su'A Cravens.
I am a Jaylon Smith fam also, no doubt, but I think that we have the cats in place to plug just about anyone

I'm not really concerned about his hands, and the kid flat out makes plays when plays need to be made. I also like Tyler Boyd, who granted is more of a possession type receiver but if you want a guy that you can throw the ball up and he'll get it, Boyd is your guy. Dude is great catching the ball in traffic. He's also a very good punt returner.
I can understand your enthusiasm. I've seen both Fuller and Boyd play, and they are dynamic receivers but in different ways. To be sure, Fuller is a dangerous deep ball receiver. Yes, he drops a few but no one can take away his positive impact on the field, and it can all happen in the blink of an eye. Boyd will fight for the ball and could help the Vikings get critical first downs, plus I'll bet he would be a good red zone target.

Regarding Fuller, the Vikings need to clean up their deep passing game before any WR will be much help. That means far better offensive line blocking and more pinpoint accuracy from Bridgewater, who seems capable of missing any receiver at any time with deep throws.

He is also going in for a post combine physical.
Doing fine for a guy who suffered severe nerve damage maybe..

Definitely. Bridgewater is here to stay for now so not much to do on that front except take a later round guy. I don't see them picking up an early round O-lineman other than maybe a center. DT, WR, C, S in the first 4 rounds would be my guess right now but it really depends on how the board shakes out.

who knows with Slick Rick ... I would be shocked if we don't pick up another DE or DT
or both in this draft sounds like there is 15 DT and 10 DE worth drafting this year.

I am hoping we don't reach for a wide out in the first... have another talented guy who
can't run routes... great

I had a question, between the "Top" WR in the Draft. If all 4 were available, who would be your first and second choice and why? The only one I have paid attention to was Doctson since I am in Dallas.

Laquon Treadwell, Josh Doctson, Will Fuller, Corey Coleman

Thanks,

:v):

Edit: Just saw there was a WR thread.

Out of the four players you mentioned I would definitely go Doctson.

Would you want to take a risk on Jaylon Smith and if so what round?

I would take him with a 4th round pick. I know it is a big risk but also it could be a huge reward.

Thoughts?

It's hard to make an educated guess without direct information from a medical staff. If pressed I'd say no more than a fifth.

He won't be there in the 4th....... I think he might go in the 2nd round to the Patriots. If he doesn't my guess will be mid 2nd early 3rd at the latest.

The guy was a top 5 pick overall, if not a number one pick. Hell with speilmans love for Notre Dame players he might take him in the 2nd or 3rd.

Chris Jones name has been mentioned this week. Seems to be moving up the boards.

I really like Alex Collins running back from Arkansas. I wouldn'tmind taking him in the 3rd. If you haven't seen him play I encourage a YouTube search.

Jones does seem like a typical Zim specimen.
