Re: What??? Teddy to the Pro Bowl?
I don't here too much complaints from the players that are chosen to come here. Most of the complaints are from fans that don't even watch the game. And taking a family trip is much different than being selected to play in the pro bowl. They're out here with their peers. They get to meet past pro bowl players. It's usually an entire week of events that lead up to the game. Signings, parties, etc... I think that experience would mean a lot more than just a watch.Norv Zimmer wrote:I really think the players that DESERVE to be all pros would.much rather have a limited edition nfl rolex or something. Something they can keep forever to remind them how well they played, no one wants to play in a meaningless game..... they all can afford to take a trip to Hawaii if they want.
Just take it for what it is and what it's always been, an exhibition game.

Man that's awesome. I was hoping that Harrison Smith would get somehow invited as well.

He's already a top 10 QB in the league.

Who are the eight QBs that turned down the Pro BowlNorv Zimmer wrote:I bleed purple and am happy for the Vikings that get a free trip to Hawaii. But, what a absolute joke the pro bowl has become. Seriously like 8 quarterbacks turned down going...... what the hell is the point of the game? Until they make the game actually worth something (like MLB) it will always be a pointless game and really dumb in my eyes. I can't think of a way to make it worth something to the teams or players but what a sad joke it is.
The NFL should just name a all pro team and buy them all limited edition Rolex or belt buckles or something.

Re: What??? Teddy to the Pro Bowl?
I don't know about eight but there are at least 6: Tom Brady, Carson Palmer, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers and Cam Newton (who will obviously miss it because he'll be playing in the Super Bowl).Purple bruise wrote: Who are the eight QBs that turned down the Pro BowlAnd where did you find out that information

... only one of the original six quarterbacks who made the team will be left: Russell Wilson.

Jim I was going to troll you on this, but decided not to.
I agree on the pro bowl being a joke. They should have two teams: Fan Votes and Coaches Choice or as it might be referred to: Who is the most popular and Who is the best playing. Then do a skills competition that is fun to watch.

Okay that is 2 from the NFC and Newton, of course does not count. Sounded a little misleading.Mothman wrote: I don't know about eight but there are at least 6: Tom Brady, Carson Palmer, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers and Cam Newton (who will obviously miss it because he'll be playing in the Super Bowl).

They don't choose the players by conference anymore so the NFC part of it is no longer relevant. i forgot about that too until this morning.Purple bruise wrote:Okay that is 2 from the NFC and Newton, of course does not count. Sounded a little misleading.

I knew that but he got the pick over several other NFC QBs obviously. Yeah, I guess no big deal except for us that are Teddy backersMothman wrote: They don't choose the players by conference anymore so the NFC part of it is no longer relevant. i forgot about that too until this morning.
