Interesting. I wonder how they discern the .96% chance at winning the Super Bowl? If anything, making the playoffs should at least give the team, theoretically, a 16.66% at winning the Super Bowl. Then again, analytics is what is it.dead_poet wrote:

Really? Because we nearly beat one of the best teams in the NFL on the road with our 3 best defensive players out. So you can think what you want but all I know is, if we are healthy, we can beat anyone. It all depends on our game play and how focused these guys are.chicagopurple wrote:so we make it in and then what? We face the first quality team and get our butts kicked. Re: We dropped down to the 6th seed
Didn't want to start a new thread for this. Figured this would be the best place to post it.
I would love to see the Vikings win the next 3 games, taking them to 11-5 and winning the NFC North. Then, I want to Packers to finish 11-5 (just losing to the Vikings in week 17). This would give the Vikings the 3 seed and the Packers the 5 seed. Which would lead to the following first round match ups:
Vikings v. Seahawks
Packers @ NFC East.
This would be a rough match up for the Vikings, but would allow them to redeem themselves for the embarrassment they suffered a couple weeks ago. The Packers would (in theory) easily make it through the NFC East opponent setting up the following match ups:
Vikings @ Cardinals
Packers @ Panthers
The Vikings were one bad play away from going to overtime against the Cardinals last week, and the Packers were close to beating the Panthers back in week 9. I believe both the Vikings and Packers could pull off these wins in the rematches and would set up this NFC Championship Game:
Vikings v. Packers
I would love to see the Vikings make their first Super Bowl appearance since 1977. I feel that winning the NFC Championship Game against the Packers would go a long way towards helping me get over the 09, 00, and 98 NFCC games. Also, how great would it be for the Vikings last game at TCF to be the NFC Chapionship? Not only that, but this years Super Bowl is in San Fran. If the Vikings made it, I would pay any amount of money to get tickets since I live only an hour away.
Pipe dream, I know. But this is the ideal situation for me.

I've thought of that situation before, too, and I have to admit...as unrealistic as it sounds, it would be #### beautiful.

Do you really want to experience what the Bears felt in 2010?DK Sweets wrote:I've thought of that situation before, too, and I have to admit...as unrealistic as it sounds, it would be #### beautiful.

Actually, in this version it ends up with Cordarelle Patterson scoring a TD and mooning a group of cheese heads while Joe Buck loses his cool...Jordysghost wrote: Do you really want to experience what the Bears felt in 2010?

If he got Charles Martined the following possession I would be totally ok with that.DK Sweets wrote:Actually, in this version it ends up with Cordarelle Patterson scoring a TD and mooning a group of cheese heads while Joe Buck loses his cool...

What is the scenario where the Vikings have the opportunity to knock GB out of the playoffs with a win @ Lambeau?

That would require the Packers to lose out, and for whoever finishes second in the NFC East to have a 9-7 record and better divisional record then the Packers.S197 wrote:What is the scenario where the Vikings have the opportunity to knock GB out of the playoffs with a win @ Lambeau?

i'd rather get the packers out of the way early. here's my scenario.akvikingsfan wrote:Didn't want to start a new thread for this. Figured this would be the best place to post it.

1. win the division and the #3 seed.
2. beat the packers at home in the opening rd of the playoffs, while seattle smacks the nfc east winner on the road.
3. we travel to arizona with a healthy defense and upset the cards while the lower seeded seahawks beat the panthers once again on the road.
4. we host the nfc championship game with a game temp around 0 degrees vs a seattle team who would be on their third straight road game, with the first two being cross country.
Re: We dropped down to the 6th seed
Hmm seems unlikely. Alright then I guess I'll have to settle for winning in Lambeau then winning in TCF back to back.Jordysghost wrote: That would require the Packers to lose out, and for whoever finishes second in the NFC East to have a 9-7 record and better divisional record then the Packers.
