I can just about guarantee that there is no way Diggs, Sherels, and Thielen all make the team. Diggs is a lock. Sherels and Thielen are on the bubble.

Why does everyone think Thielen is on the bubble? Who's gonna push him out? Chances are as usual, they're gonna run with 6 receivers so i'm not getting why everyone thinks he's in danger of losing his job. Something i'm missing here?

Wallace
Johnson
Patterson
Wright
Diggs
Thielen

?????

I don't think most people think he's on the bubble. The conversation has spiraled out of control, but the original point was that Thielen was not likely to make the roster if we keep only 5 receivers.

To me I don't really consider Adam Thielen a wide out or Sherels a corner. They are honestly special teams players for the Vikings or specialists.

Any player that spends almost no downs; on defense or offense, and is involved in special teams, plays consistently. They are a special teams, player.

I understand why they are assigned to a group, such as wideouts; however, they are honestly a special teams guy, in reality.

I've always felt like Sherels has played fine when called upon. He'll never be a starter but when you need that #4 DB to step in due to injuries, etc., I feel like he holds his own. I think if a guy like Price can show a lot of potential then Sherels is on the bubble but he offers enough to this team that I think he has a good shot of making the roster, especially with Prater moving to safety.

I agree. If we're talking about Marcus Sherels from 2011, he held little value as a depth corner. I think he's grown a lot since then, though.

If I remember correctly Prater really flashed when on the field...

IMO Captain was are worst DB last season.

He had 7 passes defensed in 2013, 2nd on the team (behind Rhodes).

I agree, Sherels hasn't been terrible when called upon. I hope he stays on the team.

It's a good sign when we have too many quality guys, on our team, instead of; which, one of the ten horrible
guys, do we need the least. I'm pretty sure we have, a playoff quality roster. OL by far is my biggest concern.
I would like to see a new OL coach and some scouting changes if our OL, is not vastly improved.

Since this is a bubble players thread, lets talk about two other that I don't think will make the team. Brandon Bostick and Dejuan Harris. Now I pick these two for the obvious reason that they came from Green Bay. Does anyone see anything from either of them that they would make the team, or do we have to wait until the pre season games to get an idea?

If we carry 6 WRs, I think Jordan Leslie has an outside chance at beating out Thielen for the last spot. Leslie had decent production at BUY last year (his only year there after transferring from UTEP) and he's a big athletic guy; 6'3" 215 and runs in the 4.45s. Of course he went undrafted so there's some knocks in his game.

Thielen proved he can play special teams but I view his ceiling as a WR as pretty low whereas Leslie's upside is probably considerably higher. Comes down to philosophy of how to value a STs player in the context of a 53 man roster and who dresses for the 45 man limit.

Bostick has done nothing but blow since he came into the league, he has physical prowess and little to nothing else.

Harris though, has flashed serious potential, and truth be told I wish we still had him. Once thought to be the answer to our running woes, undrafted Harris came out of nowhere in the latter half of 2012, and actually provided us with a decent running game for a time, in the dark pre Lacy days.

Harris is extremely quick to hit the hole, and he has a very impressive mix of speed, agility, and power, he is a very impressive specimen for being a lowly undrafted used car salesman from outer Jacksonville, and coincidentally fits the mold of a former teammate of his, MJD. (Though not as beasty, obviously.)

I said many a time last year that Harris should have been giving more carries his entire tenure in Green Bay, but especially last year, the guy is just productive and didnt get all the snaps he deserved in GB IMHO, doesnt bode well for his carries on your team though, with your loaded RB corp, but all in all i think he could make the roster in Minny as a 3rd, 4th option.

With Price suspended and Robinson hurt, I think Sherels' chances are looking pretty good. Don't know much about the new sign from Carolina but sounds like a journeyman (4 teams in 1 year!).

I really hope Captain can turn it around and Newman has enough gas in the tank for another year.

The Vikings seem pretty across the board on the idiot outlaw factor.. I would be surprised if price makes the team..

he was a back up anyways for the most part. Sherel's chances just got better, for sure.

Yeah the guy they signed does not look impressive on stats ? well see..
