I hope he plays in the middle. I hear how good he is in coverage, but what about his run support? This was my favorite pick in this whole draft.
Im not talking about Raiders, draft that fastest, strongest, tallest guy, just saying that our LBs as a group have been slow for the past 15 years. Rarely have we had anyone that can play sideline to sideline and keep up with TEs. Greenway was the closest thing we had when he first came to us, but now he doesn't have the speed either. Its nice to have a couple linebackers with speed and talent. Many of the other teams in the league have moved to guys who are alot faster in the middle, and less "Thumper" Urlacher, Beason, Willis, Kuechly. And their defenses were/are some of the better ones around. As far as Kendricks goes, I was shocked he fell to the Vikings in round 2. The guy is fast, rangy, and instinctive. He reminds me a lot of Ed McDaniel (who is still one of my all-time favorite Vikings). The only concern I have about Kendricks is he tips the scales at just over 230 pounds, which isn't big for a middle linebacker, but like McDaniels he counters that with his speed and instincts.
