I never thought much of him as a head coach, but he always seemed to me like a good guy. I bet the players liked him too.

Sometimes I feel like the only Vikings fan who never understood what was so terrible about Tice.
I'd take Tice over Triangle of Authority/"Field Goals Are Better Than Touchdowns"/Chiliball/Perkins Menu "Kick #### Offense" any day.

What was so terrible was how...dumb, he was. Childress had issues, but he wasn't a stupid person. Tice was. They were both bad hires, and bad head coaches. Arguing which was worse is pointless...they were both bad...
