This is off topic, but I did not want to start a thread for just my random thoughts. Since 1980 I think every team in the NFC has made a super bowl except for the Vikings and Lions. Man that sucks. I guess they will have to change that soon I hope

IMO, it looked like someone was bored and combined LSU's uniforms with some elements of the Vikings' uniforms. I highly doubt the new uniforms will look close to this image.

I'd like to see an actual Purple and GOLD uniform. Not Purple and Yellow. The 49ers have Gold on their Unis. When ever Vikings fans or Packer fans for that matter, say their team colors are Purple (or Green) and Gold I laugh. Apparently we here in the upper midwest are color blind.

I care more about how the team performs than what they're wearing but their uniforms are part of their appeal (they have the coolest helmets in football) and the more visually-oriented people are, the more this stuff makes a difference to them. Oh. I understand. But plenty of teams have ugly or plain uniforms. Don't the fans still buy jerseys to represent? Yes. It's about team pride not "looking cool." But if looking cool is your guys' goal, more power to ya.

Looking cool is definitely not my goal. I'm just talking about aesthetics. They may not matter to everybody but they matter to some and they definitely matter to me. Plenty of teams have plain or ugly uniforms but I don't want the Vikings to be one of them. Team pride is great but it's a lot more fun to be proud of your team if their uniforms and helmets look great than if they're hideous examples of contemporary design.

The more I think about it, I'd really like to see the gray pants. One aspect of the Vikings uniforms that I've always disliked was the white on white road uniforms. I'd much rather see them wear white jerseys with gray pants or else white with purple pants.

Personally, I think switching to gray pants would be a step in the wrong direction but I also seriously doubt the team will move away from the purple, yellow and white color scheme they've always used.

It's a lot more fun to represent your team pride too if they are winning. lol. But I also don't only wear my Vikings gear when they win either. That's the point. Of course we all want the Vikings uniforms to be their usual level of sexy, but even if they aren't, we'll eventually warm up to them and wear them anyway. Why? Because we love the Vikings. Simple as that.

Personally though, I'm getting away from the jersey buying business. Don't get me wrong; I have plenty. But I'm more about Vikings t-shirts, hoodies, shoes, etc. You name it; I have it. I wear Vikings stuff so much people say, "Do you have anything other than Vikings clothes? With free agency and such, spending $75-$100 on a jersey is tricky. I'd have to really love a guy. I can get 4-5 shirts for that--at least. And in general, I'm more about the team than individuals. And--I already have two personalized "Funk" jerseys. I'm also starting to personalize my t-shirts, too. It just makes it easier. I know I'll never leave the team. lol.

Y'all are worried about the uniforms. I get it. I'm curious, too. It actually adds more excitement to the draft party. With that being said, I'm more curious if Nike is going to start making NFL shoes again. I have a few pair of Vikings shoes, and I freakin LOVE THEM. I would LOVE if Nike would come out with some! My Vikings Reeboks will eventually be worn out!

I'm assuming they aren't going to reveal a new uniform that's a mess so i doubt warming up to them will be a big issue but in my case, there are designs they could release that likely would never wear. However, maybe I shouldn't have brought up jersey buying/wearing because it really wasn't my main point. As I said, it's primarily about aesthetics (at least for me). I'm an artist so color and design are inherently important to me, even more so when they're associated with a team I've spent the vast majority of my life supporting.

Nike seem to be fond of using grey in any which way, check the Seahawks alternative third jersey as well as their road pants. This is not my main issue, I just fear that on the whole, the package feels a little too college like.

At the end of the day though, whatever donned, they'll always be my Vikes

You can't possibly associate the famous purple with anyone else more so. SKOL!
