We draft best LB with second first round pick

We draft Best player rest of the draft..

That gives us a great D line Allen LDE First Round Pick DT, Francois DT and Robison RDE

LB core Greenway Strong Side LB Second First Pick Weak side LB Spikes MLB

Cook Winfield at starting CB

Ed Reed and Harrison Smith at Saftey


That is a Kick butt Defense with some talented youth and veteran leadership

Because right now they're so tight with the cap that they wouldn't be able to match any offer.
I think they wouldn't be able to sign their rookies right now.
So going after Cruz before they restructure some contracts and cut some players would be a good idea.
But of course it would cost us a 1st round pick...

As a Tennessee Vols fan I'd love to be wrong and see him succeed, but IMO he has always been horribly overrated. Became detached a few times last year and dropped quite a few passes. Important ones.

Picking Patterson, on the other hand, would make me very VERY happy. Dude plays just like Percy, with a chance to be better than Harvin IMO.

Minnesota hits a homerun with their two first rounders and things keep progressing in the right direction.

Personally, I hope Seattle never sniffs the Super Bowl.

I don't think they would even be looking at Teo - why draft someone in the 1st who won't be an every down player. He was mowed over by 'Bama and is naive, to say the least.

Wallace might end up in Indy. Better timing with better team.

DT, WR, WR is how I see this playing out. There's good first round depth at DT in this draft so getting someone like Richardson or Hankins at 23 would be good and Woods then Swope with the next two may be the way to go.

Unless Tavon falls to 23.

Best case. Sign Cruz -young and quality individual. Pick up Josh Cribbs - Cheap Use the first rounder on needs.

Offensive Skills Core:
Cruz (top tier wr)
Cribbs (excellent return, decent no 2 receiver)
Wright (below avg slot, ok 3rd option)
Rudolph (top tier te)
Peterson (Best rb)
Ponder ? no excuses now

That is very doable. Just make a run at cruz!

Worst case scenario:
Get outbid for free agent receivers. Use neither first rounder to get a quality wr. Rely strictly on Peterson, Ponder, and Rudolph.

I think J wright can step right into Percy's shoes and fill them nicely. Now we need Patterson, but dont think that will happen he will easily go before Pick 23.

For the price and talent? I'd definitely take that. Keep dreaming on getting Cruz guys, it aint happenin'.

1. Danny Woodhead is a RB not a WR. Pass catching RB =/= slot WR. If you wanna replace Percy in the slot sign Amendola or draft Austin.

2. Ed Reed is probably the GOAT but he's old, we have bigger needs than S to being tying up that kind of money on him and he probably doesn't wanna come to Minnesota anyway.

3. Takeo Spikes is ancient and would be a 1 year fix at best. Might as well bring back EJ as we're at it.

Danny Woodhead is a very smart player with amazing quickness and speed.. WE don't need him to be a deep route guy .. We need him to catch balls
on short quick routes like hooks and slants

Ed Reed is still got a few years and he could teach Harrison Smith about the game..

Takeo Spikes is old but is stout against the run and can read defenses as well as anybody A big part of MLB in the 3-4
is this function.. If he lasts two years or even one and helps give us time to train up a youngster great..


I quarantee with these changes Minnesota would be a top five defense .. with Peterson we don't need more than that to go all the way

I don't know that I've seen a draft where Tavon isn't available at #23. I haven't been keeping track, since I really didn't want him with Percy on the roster.
