The Packers didn't get hosed... the fans of the NFL have been the ones getting hosed since week one. Time to end this silly charade and get back to real football.

As much of a terrible call that it looks now after watching the replay 1000 times, I can see where the ref could of seen it as a reception in real time.

Either way, I love when Packer fans are in pain :-D

You will hear about this when bad calls come up in 30 years from now ...

things like this have a life of their own.. this might even be a sub plot in a time machine
movie. I know some Packer fan is destroying his house as we speak ..

I hate admitting it, but the Refs really screwed up on this call. Golden Tate had his right hand on the ball while Jennings was on the ground, as his left arm was wrapping around him. It wasn't until they were on the ground that Tate could have even made it look like simultaneous.

I hate the Packers but at the same time, they should lose because they lost. This was a blown call by the refs and I guarantee if it was us on the receiving end of that bad call we'd be in uproar with pitchforks and knives. :wallbang:

In the end. These replacement Refs need to be shown the door and the Regular ones need a Contract. Now. Hope you're paying attention to this Goodell. You think ratings will stay the same? Just wait till half of your watchers don't even bother turning to the channel because they know that these Refs won't at least call a fair game.

Also. Golden Tate. You're a lying son of a b. You pushed off and you didn't ever have possession of that ball. :nono:

So much for conspiracy theories about golden child teams like the Packers getting favorable calls.

Only because it the replacement refs, they don't know any better. Once the real refs come back, the non calls that we're used to will once again be in the Packers favor

NFL: Refs blew nine calls in one game
League cites poor officiating in Vikings-Packers game

The Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS - The NFL has acknowledged its officiating crew made at least nine mistakes during Sunday's Green Bay-Minnesota game, including a key pass interference call, two newspapers reported Wednesday.

The mistakes were documented in a confidential memorandum, the Star Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press said, citing unidentified sources.

The Vikings (3-10) lost the game 26-22 in Green Bay. Eight of the affected plays occurred in the fourth quarter, when the Packers (10-3) made up a nine-point deficit with two touchdowns. An interference call negated a Vikings' interception on the Packers' game-winning drive.

Both papers reported the league's correspondence with the Vikings.

"Conversations between the NFL officiating department and teams are confidential," NFL spokesman Michael Signora said. "We do not comment on them."

Vikings coach Mike Tice declined comment. Team officials are prohibited from discussing confidential communication with the league.

On Monday, the Vikings sent in 12 officials' calls the team disagreed with. In a response, league supervisors wrote that Vikings safety Corey Chavous should not have been called for pass interference against Donald Driver on a third-down pass that safety Jack Brewer intercepted.

"It doesn't matter what they say after the fact," Chavous said. "We lost the game."

Under the NFL's instant replay policy, pass interference penalties are not subject to review. Tony Fisher scored the go-ahead touchdown for Green Bay four plays later.

NFL teams routinely fill out such forms on the day after games, seeking clarification or explanations for calls, and it is not unusual for mistakes to be acknowledged affecting both teams.

Among other mistakes detailed in the document, league supervisors wrote that Packers receiver Robert Ferguson should have been ruled out of bounds at the 1-yard line rather than given a 40-yard touchdown reception with 10:48 left in the fourth quarter. The Vikings did not challenge the call via instant replay.

The NFL also wrote that Packers safety Antuan Edwards should have received an unnecessary roughness penalty for hitting Vikings receiver Chris Walsh, who had taken a knee to stop the next-to-last play of the game, and that Packers linebacker Nate Wayne also should have been penalized for blocking receiver Randy Moss in the back on the final play of the game.

so wrong. not what the rule says at all. that was an interception. he had full control, while tate had one hand on the tip of the ball and no control.

Purplemania wrote:After finally getting to see the whole play on ESPN, I change my mind. That was the correct call by the refs. Tate actually did have two hands on it as they hit the ground, but Jenkins yanked it away. Even than, Tate still had some possession of the ball.

But none of that should've mattered because he pushed a Packer defender from the back into the ground to make that catch, LMAO.

Overall it was wrong, but we as Vikings fan have been here more than anyone, so tough luck, and feel the pain!
not what the rule says. doesnt matter about hitting the ground. what matters is who gets control first. you are confusing possession and control.

I've always felt that in Hail Mary situations the refs looked the other way on PIs, Pushing off and OPI, since it basically like playing 500 when we were kids. Which makes those plays exciting. I know when the refs do throw a flag for pushing off or PIs people want their heads most of the time.

As far as whether Jennings had possession of the ball maybe instead of padding his stats with a interception he should have knocked the ball down instead of creating a situation where a ref needed to decide in real time who had possession first. I feel no remorse for them.

I hope Duh Pack fixates on the unfair refs blaming them instead of looking inward. It would be nice to see them go 1-15 on the season while complaining about crappy officiating.

I didn't see the play yet but I'm sure I will see it about 10 times within the next hour.

The refs didn't beat the Packers, "they beat themselves" (ala their statement when SF beat them)

I can't believe they made that call. It was obviously an interception and the packers should have won. But the replacement refs made a terrible call... Once again. It's good for us that the packers lost but it at least should have been won fair and square. Hopefully the replacement refs will be replaced because they are making some absolutely horrific calls.
