A lot of people are pissed because the offers from the Yankees and Red Socks were both better than what they got from the Mets. The Twins tried to play those teams off each other to inflate the offers and it didn't work. This Mets deal is probably the best thing the Twins could get right now.
Getting Ellsbury from the Red Sox would've been nice.

Do you really want Johan in the AL?

I don't think that is something you should worry about unless you are trading within your own division. How many times can you possibly face a picther during a year? Not very many. To worry about the playoffs is a bit silly since you need the equipment to get there in the first place.
I don't like the trade, but it was inevitable (basically). It seems like a downgrade, but Santana wasn't exactly invincible last year. Who knows, maybe it'll work out for the best.

How much offensive help was he given? And at the deadline we trade away a bat for basically nothing.

Oh well, i'm just glad he pitched for the Twins and did it extremely well. A lot of the all-time great pitchers played for several different teams, Santana is no different.
One of those three pitching prospects they got from the Mets will develop into a good starter.

No, that's always been a problem... and unfortunately it doesn't look like they've addressed the situation yet IMO
