It's September 3rd. Did you expect them to find a starting caliber QB without baggage 8 days before their first game of the season.
Yes Jim .. we do there should always be a HOF player at any roster spot for the Vikings.

Solid take.

Who will play the home opener vs. the Pack? 15 days away. That's too early for Bradford, IMO, but it may depend on Hill's performance. The Monday night game (10/3) against the Giants would be another possibility. The first game after the Bye week seems a long ways off (10/23), but that is against the Eagles, so it'd make for one heck of a story!

What a debacle
Yeah that was terrible. I hope that doesn't happen with Bradford. I'd imagine Hill will start at least the first 4 games? One month to learn the basics of a system?

This is what happens when you don’t draft and develop quarterbacks who are capable of starting in the NFL and pushing your starter. You don’t just get a starter and let Shaun Hill or another veteran collect free money behind him to let the starter feel “safe” in his job security. Then when the starter is injured you admit your back up sucks and you get desperate.

if you take away teddy's 5 td game last year his numbers for the other 15 are atrocious. at least they made a move and historically we've done well with qb's on a whim: cunningham, george, and favre.

I like the move. Pretty much gone from sorrow over the injury and having no hope for the season with Hill to now having hope again for division and playoffs. Steep price - sure- but do u want to contend? There were really no good options and the marketplace was/is fierce - Cleveland wanting a second rounder for a 37 year old backup? I believe I read two seconds for McCarron. I like Bradfords arm over Teddy's ( I love Teddy but HATE that side-armed throw, dont think he'll ever thrive with that motion and thought I read that he was supposed to work on that this past off-season), assume be better/quicker at reading defenses, and I believe at throwing the ball away as opposed to taking sacks. I also read today, which probably means nothing, that Bradford had the highest accuracy percentage (PFF) when under pressure and God knows that will come in handy with our OLine (although believe it was only based on this preseason - but I'll assume he was playing other first units). We control nothing as fans so it is what it is, lets hope he can be a quick study and get out there soon. I'd like to see him in the opener but thats a pipe dream. So lets hope bobblehead can hold the fort til then (sorry but that head just seems huge, lol).

Did you sincerely want Sanchez?

Or is it that you'd rather have Sanchez for free than Bradford for a 1st and 4th?

The latter. I do not believe Bradford is a first and a 4th better of a player than Sanchez. His career speaks for itself.

Well, Sanchez's doesn't exactly whisper sweet nothings in my ear.

I can see your point, but I think Bradford has way more promise than Sanchez. I'm not happy to part with as much as we did, but I like the idea of giving Bradford a go this year.

I was just wondering.....what, if any, influence do you think Zygi had on this decision?

I mean, what owner wants to play an entire season with a BRAND NEW BILLION $$$ STADIUM, with Shaun Hill at the helm? A 5-11 season with Shaun Hill would be almost as deflating for an owner as the debacle at the Metrodome a few winters ago.
