Teddy can handle it so I doubt mind Zimmer being hard on him publicly. Teddy wasn't good in that game regardless of what the final numbers say. He knows he has to be better too.

As for Greenway, I'm not surprised Zimmer wouldn't call him out because he seems to show a lot more respect for veterans (at least publicly). He really needs to re-evaluate that role though. They stayed in base D a lot in the first game and that meant a lot of Greenway and very little of Kendricks. That can't and shouldn't happen.

Our kicking game is absolutely borked right now. Walsh can't hit anything from 40 plus and Jeff Locke's longest punt of the night was 44 yards. You don't draft a punter to play as poorly as Locke has.

I think that Teddy held onto the ball longer than he should on more than one occasion. He also didn't throw the ball away a time or two. His inability to throw his receivers open(my opinion) will lead to sacks, his receivers taking big hits or getting alligator arms, and interceptions.

Right now, Walsh couldn't hit the ocean standing in it. Locke is weak. Did we or did we not use draft picks on these humps?

That was actually worse than what I feared. Some people were saying 12-4 for the Vikings. Right now, I would think 8-8 is a stretch. What a horrible game, they should all be ashamed. I can't think of one player who even had a decent game... MAYBE Anthony Barr.
Three things really scare me about the last two games ...

They came out flat two straight games in a row, that is a very bad sign...

Both of our lines had no push, against not a great; although physical team?

Will Zimmer and Norv give up on coaching this team ?

There must be someone on the street right now who would be a better option than Locke or Walsh. Why aren't we trying anyone out?

1) The contract he just signed
2) The fact that he has the proven potential to be very good (record rookie season).

Here's a little food for thought to lift some spirits that may be still down. The Patriots lost on the road last year 20-33 to the Dolphins. I know we aren't the Patriots but that goes to show you that championship teams don't dwell on the past. And they also got blown out by the Chiefs 14-41. Gotta put the bad games behind us and move on. Don't dwell on who we're missing due to injury and wish the best luck to the next man up.

I think that is a reasonable point and a good attitude to have.

No, not because of last night's game because I still believe AD will rush for 1000 plus yards. But now is the time to make a deal. This team is young and building (probably 2 years away from competing for a title). Trade him now, free up some salary space and continue building :!:
For all the reasons you dont want AP, those are the same reasons it wont be worth it to trade him, Unless you rip off Jerry Jones or something, but I doubt it.

For sure, it's better to get exposed in week 1 than it is in week 18, 19, or 20! Not saying losing your first game in this fashion is a good thing but that good can come from this kind of situation. I guarantee you no one in that locker room thinks they don't have to put some work in and get better now.

I am having Ponder thread flashbacks

If a QB holds the ball for 8 seconds at some point he'll be running for his life.

My concern isn't THAT they lost... Its how they lost... It essentially put them back a few years, imo.

i'm really starting to believe musgrave wasn't as bad as we all made him out to be. the offense at the end of his last year was the last time we actually looked like we had a game plan. i honestly don't know what they are doing out there now. i told my friend at halftime that they would get shut out. at no point did i feel confident they were going to score after we couldn't get in following the blocked field goal.

Honestly someone above me hit the nail on the head. That loss felt like it set the franchise back another couple of years. Part of me hopes that we turn it around though and it was an anomaly.

I don't want to dump on teddy to bad because he was running for his life, but he made alot of throws that lend credence to the pro-day inaccuracy. Did he have on his normal glove? On tv we can't really see WR so I dont know if if he was not seeing guys or they wont open, but overall he looked rattled.

The good from teddy was a deep ball throw to wallace that was perfect and should have been a TD.

On defense, hodges looked lost last year. I said it and some rabid homers told me I was wrong. Kendricks always read the play wrong when he was in. One time kapernick baited him into coming after him on a play and he just threw it to his guy. On another kendricks was chasing after a guy down the side lines back turned to kapernick who was running free for a huge chunk of yards. Audie Cole should really be given more of a shot, I think he's a smart player and we need that right now.

Our lines had zero push on either side of the ball, that is going to be a huge problem. Our O-line I expected that from, but the D-line was suprising. We have alot of talent on that line, if they don't get it going we will be ####.

Our ST is a real downer, you have to be able to hit these low 40 yarders, he almost missed the field goal he did make. That is going to be an issue and its disconcerting that our team is in denial about the situation.

All in all, dog #### game and if they dont respond to it by winning against detroit at home, this season is lost before it began.
