Mike Wallace was just never a good fit for Miami and with Tannehill at Q. Wallace is a perfect for a QB like Teddy and as a complement to a Charles Johnson.
Teddy was almost 10% more accurate with his deep ball last year than Tannehill was. Tannehill had a deep pass completion percentage of like 38%. Teddy was over 46%. And Teddy wqs a rookie.

I found that part really interesting because i thought tannehill would have been better on his deep ball than teddy[/quote]
Naw. No way man. TEDDY had the 2nd or 3rd best deep pass % out of all starting qb's during either the last half of the season or last 6-7 games or something.

I don't know why so many people think there would be an issue with this. To be fair though it's Packer Fans on every site and board that just make stuff up and refuse to believe that there could ever be another decent qb in the NFC. NORTH. But Teddy is always referred to as inaccurate, a 5 yard passer, noodle armed, and can't make the deep throw. It's f'n weird.

To be fair, how often have Viking fan's as a whole given credit to NFCN running backs since, say, 2007

I for one have always thought Forte to be a good back. And lately Lacy has been good.

So with the signing of Wallace and the release of Jennings how does that effect our draft? I personally feel that our WR corps is now sufficiently deep that I would prefer us go defensive and get Trae Waynes. Our DBs would be so deep and young if it worked out. There was one LBer that I was interested in... Kendricks? I think was his name? Anyway what do you think? I would like us to go heavy in the defense this draft now that our WR's are potentially addressed for a couple of years.

I think we're definitely less likely to draft a WR in the 1st. Before acquiring Wallace, it was always a possibility that we drafted a WR and cut Jennings, or cut Jennings next year. Wallace is younger and more likely to be around a few years, so WR is less of a priority.

I feel like they still could potentially draft a WR, so my assumption is they go BPA. The great think about it right now is that I feel the Vikings are only a few pieces away from truly contending (those guys still need to develop though) that any guy they draft in the first round will fill a void. Whether it another playmaking WR for Teddy, an offensive lineman (Scherff?) or Waynes at CB. They all step in day one. The draft is fairly heavy in WR's again though too, so I can see them getting that done in the 2nd round.

One of my favorite receivers in the draft is Lockette from KSU. If they got him in the early 2nd, I'd be ecstatic. I think a lot of teams are onto him though and he may not last past the 1st, so we'll see.

Yep, tough to sign a guy when he seems to have his mind made up beforehand. It would have been nice to beef up that DE depth, as Robison is showing signs of slowing down...not that he has ever excelled, but he's been sufficient.
The fewer FA's that are signed, makes me think that Rick is looking to trade back in the 1st rd and acquire more picks. Lots of holes to fill on this roster still.

On Monday, it was believed the Bengals were poised to pounce on defensive end Michael Johnson if he was cut by the Buccaneers. He was, and they did.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Bengals have agreed to terms with Johnson, who spent five years in Ohio before signing with Tampa Bay in 2014.

Yupp. Knew it. Another year of Robison at DE - whoopee. Let's hope Scott Critchon and Casper the Ghost stop hanging out and maybe he will actually make it on to the field.

Michael Johnson on signing with Cincy: "This is my home. I feel like outside of Selma (Alabama hometown), this is my home.''

When he chose Tampa over the Vikings last year he said he wanted to be closer to home.

Guess he's not big on adventure. Sounds like he's at least a little bit of a momma's boy. At 6'7" 270 he can be that if he wants.

Of course it could have been that Cincy offered more $ but I get the feeling we made a strong offer. Johnson will collect $16M from Tampa for one year of work so money might not have been the primary consideration for him. That was an expensive 4 sacks that Tampa paid for.

Was really hoping he'd come here and replace Robison. Hopefully they find someone, or through the draft. Robison is an average player, and doesn't fit this defense at all. :(

Agreed but at the very least it not a desperate need this year. Robinson is acceptable for now.

I've never considered Forte to be an elite back (top 5) but I have considered him to be in the top half of the league for years. Lacy on the other hand WILLA be a top 5 RB at some point in his career.

I don't read or care what Packer fans say but only 10% of Bridgewaters passes were over 20 yards, one of the lowest in the league per PFF. That's not all on him, some of that is receivers and Norv but the offense was far from the vertical threat it was supposed to be. His sample size is way too small to say how good his deep ball is right now.
