I completely disagree. Sure, mathematically there is still plenty of time to right the ship. But realistically, we have the better team and a starting lineup that has been shaken up far less than theirs has. If they can overcome our continuity and better talent, that doesn't bode well for the rest of the season when we will be going up against far better teams.

I mean, seriously, name 5 players on their roster that scare you.

I should probably clarify that I don't LITERALLY mean that if the Vikings lose this game their playoff chances are 0%, but this would nonetheless be a huge lost opportunity.

No, but it could mean the difference at the end of the season if the Packers and Vikings are tied for the division. Winning this while the Packer losing to them could be the tiebreaker for the division title.

Yea but this is the NFL and the line between Winners and Losers isnt all that stark.

I completely understand that it would be a dissapointing loss, but it wouldn't nessicarily mean that the Vikings are untalented, or in over their heads, any given Sunday goes triple for opening weekend.

Maybe so but you could say that about nearly every team that appears on both of our schedules, I doubt it will come to that anyways, I think the Niners are finna get stomped into dust by both of our teams.

How about the Vikes trading for Kam Chancellor to pair with Smith. WTFen kind of defense would that be  And Ricky knows how to "swindle" teams.

He definitely pulled one over with the whole Percy Harvin trade, lmao.

But Chancellor is too expensive I think you guys would do better to just draft, develop, and patch, then to make any bold descisions right now.

Don't agree. they need another top notch safety and he is the very best in the league and a great team leader. He would be worth a 2nd round pick easily.

His contract and cap hit are more of my concern, though I do agree that other then that, a 2nd round pick for him would be more then worth it.

Is this a rumor? I see this on Facebook as well.

Not only that, but I'm also guessing this had something to do with who the Bills released. Quote from a poster from another forum:
[–]RiskReversal:

Cassel's cap number was $4,750K, next highest for a backup is Sanchez at $3.750K.

By releasing Cassell the Bills save $4,750K with no dead money. Had they released Manuel they would have had ($2.8M) on the cap and carried $5.2M in dead money.

For a team looking for cap space to extend Dareus' contract ... I think the money difference made a big impact on their decision to stick with Manuel over Cassel.
Not arguing about the business aspect of this trade. It's very clear who got the better end of the deal now. Let's hope we don't have to see much of Hill this year. Week 1 is here so let's move forward.

‏@christomasson Robert Blanton confirms he will be the #Vikings starter at strong safety. That move was expected but he did have to play in final exhibition
@christomasson Gerald Hodges says he has won the #Vikings MLB job and Audie Cole confirms. Hodges "excited" about the opportunity.
It's interesting that a guy like Hodges has won the MLB job but has so little MLB experience. Wasn't he SAM in college? The coaching staff must've liked what they saw. I expect a rotation with him and Kendricks. Too bad about Cole but he really didn't flash quite as much this preseason.
