I know he is a rookie. I know he is "raw". I know he probably was forced into starting when he wasn't ready. But he really needs to start showing something above and beyond quickly for me to believe he is the QB of the future. Good to great QBs make their players better, not struggle because "talent isn't there". Good QBs like Luck, Rodgers, and others throw their WRs open so that they can make plays. I rarely, if ever, see Manning use his "checkdown" losers. Bridgewater uses them all the time. Just like previous QBs who didn't get it.
I stuck up for Jackson and Ponder for far too long thinking they would someday "get it". I don't have much patience for Bridgewater right now because I expect a first round pick to produce much more than what he has so far other than the Falcons game.

That would probably work if the defenses were in their prevent defense the first 2 minutes of the game, which of course they aren't.
Exactly. It's a lot easier to work the middle of the field when the safeties are playing deep.

But maybe those highlights still offer some clues about Teddy.
I love the analysis of the two passes. Notice what having AD in there does for the offense and how play-action to him freezes the Pack's D. The Vikings don't even have an offensive signature right now, whereas they did when AD was present. I have to wonder how Bridgewater would perform with AD back there with him. Would it at least provide a greater variety in their offensive attack?
As for Ponder, I would like to add one thing, which is that these series of plays offer further proof that his problems are in his head. Maybe there would be less confusion on Bridgewater's part if the Vikings could establish a firmer offensive identity and show some freakin' balance on the field.

Bridge is going to get it, the guy is very raw, and has struggled a bit, but so did Manning.
Not really in line with the last few posts, but can I just say, the even though he has been struggling, I'm so damn excited to have Teddy Bridgewater, I truly believe that this guy is going to be our franchise guy for years to come and I really cant wait till you guys all see what I see.

Good to great QBs were not great their first seasons in the nfl

I wish people would stop using the Manning comparison. There is no guarantee that Teddy will 'get it' just because Manning did. For every Manning there are quite a few more qbs that never 'got it' (Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russel, JP Losman, Matt Leinart, Ponder, Brady Quinn, Akili Smith just to mention a few). I'm not saying Teddy won't become a good qb, I'm just saying that you can't say he will just because Manning did.
The difference with Bridgewater though, is that the intangibles that he brings to the table, are nowhere near comparable to Jackson or Ponder. The way he doesn't let a bad drive or a turnover effect the rest of his game, the way he is in the clutch, the way he handles the blitz/pressure, his headiness, etc. That is why Teddy is so promising in my eyes. This is another reason I don't jump down his throat like some do on here after he makes a bad play. He's 22 years old and just made his 6th start and in those 6 starts, he has us at 3-3. Of course there will be bumps in the road during his rookie season.
All in all, Jackson was nothing but an athlete playing QB and Ponder never had any sort of pocket presence and pooped his pants in the face of pressure. Teddy is the complete opposite of both of them IMO. I think many just need to sit back and relax.
