@mattvensel] -- Full house at #Vikings practice except for Rudolph of course. Greenway has his helmet and is trying to give it a go.
@mattvensel -- Smith, Bridgewater and Patterson all out there and expected to start.

Cordarrelle Patterson says he's not 100 percent; limited Sunday with hip injury
Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, who injured his hip in the Minnesota Vikings' loss to the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 2, said he still wasn't completely healthy on Sunday in a loss to the Detroit Lions. Patterson had been listed as probable for the game, but was taken out at several different points on Sunday when his injury was bothering him.

Patterson caught just two passes for 15 yards, and his first backfield carry since Week 1 went for a loss of 2 yards. He had beaten his man on a post route in the first quarter, but safety Glover Quin picked off Teddy Bridgewater's throw in the end zone.

"I don’t feel like I’m 100 percent. I should be next week," Patterson said. "Just keep getting treatment, just keep grinding in treatment and do what it takes."

@GoesslingESPN -- Gerald Hodges won't play Sunday, Turner said.
@DarrenPage -- So Gerald Hodges is out Sunday. Chad Greenway is questionable. If Chad doesn't go, that makes Mike Mauti the starting Will.
@GoesslingESPN -- Turner said Zimmer was feeling uncomfortable this morning, but "he's feeling much better now," Turner said.
@mattvensel -- Corey Wootton, Gerald Hodges and Kyle Rudolph have been ruled out for Sunday. Chad Greenway and Sharrif Floyd are questionable. #Vikings

Mauti would start over Cole? Curious.

I hope Hodges remains the starter when he comes back. Brinkley has played all right, but I think Greenway, Hodges, and Barr is a much better lineup than Greenway, Brinkley, Barr.

I hope Zimmer is ok. It is reported he is in the hospital for a procedure today.

Athletically speaking, yes, but I wonder how much Brinkley brings to the defense in terms of making calls and adjustments. They were better with him in 2012, awful without him last year and they're better again this year. There are obviously MANY other factors to consider but MLB is a position where knowledge and leadership are pretty valuable. I don't know much of either Brinkley brings to the table but I imagine that's a consideration.

I can't remember if I read this somewhere or what, but I think Barr is making the defensive calls/adjustments this season? As far as the improvement from last year to this year, there might be something to that, but Jasper has only been on the field for 183 plays this season v. 393 for Barr, and 229 for Hodges (I think this gap would be even wider, but for Hodges not starting until the Saints game). This is in large part due to the young guys being given the responsibility of playing in our nickel defense, Brinkley only gets in on base defense.

I think Jasper brings something to the table as a thumper in the middle though. It's still a position I would like to see us try to upgrade this offseason.

He did something to his hamstring on a tackle last week. Got up grabbing it.

Same here and if he's not making the calls, I have far less reservation about having Hodges in the lineup instead. Thanks for the info above.

If Sullivan is healthy, Berger is a better option at guard anyway, but the coaching staff disagrees. Too bad it looks like Sullivan's concussion may not allow him to play this week.

They don't play Berger or Yankey, and it doesn't make sense. Because the guys we have in there now, well, they are pretty bad. We blamed Fraizer for not putting the right people in at the right time, so far Zimmer looks like he's doing the same thing.

... or we could consider the possibility that a bunch of fans who watch the team once a week don't have a better idea of who should be playing than coaches who work with the players every day and who have been actively involved in football for years, even decades?
