Browns could give up their first and 2nd rounder for next year though

Anything can happen, if you remember, the Saints gave up their entire draft for Ricky WilliamsVikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 12:37 pmI really doubt they will give up their next ten first round picks.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 12:18 pm

Re: Trent Williams
I had mentioned it earlier in this thread but I was really hoping we would offer Reiff and a 3rd and be done with it. And who knows, maybe we did but Washington wanted more. (I wouldn’t give any more). But it kind of feels like at this point there’s going to be a bidding war and we’ve missed our chance. I just hope we don’t find out after the fact that slick Rick lowballed them trying to ‘win the deal’ and in doing so shot ourselves in the foot. Maybe we’ll still get him but feeling unlikely at this point. I really hope I’m wrong!

Re: Trent Williams
I don’t see the browns making the deal. They are in prime position to draft a tackle, probably Becton. I honestly think that Washington is waiting for a bottom feeding team to jump in the mix and they will ship him off. Supposedly Tampa is interested too. But I’m starting to have a hard time thinking Washington will send Williams to a contender like Tampa or the Vikings, two teams in the same conference as them. They are trying to shove it up his as# by the sounds of it. That organization just needs to burn, they are an embarrassment to the leagueRandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 1:05 pmAnything can happen, if you remember, the Saints gave up their entire draft for Ricky WilliamsVikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 12:37 pm

There is a very good chance Washington wouldn't want Reiff back in a trade.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 10:50 amDo the Browns have a competent LT to send back to Washington? I think that gives us the edge.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 10:23 am
I guess it is between Vikings and Browns for Trent so we will see who wins the Trent sweepstakes tomorrow
I also question trading for Williams if Reiff is such a sure thing competent LT. Don't we have other holes to fill where we don't even have close to competency? Like LG, RG, 3 Tech and CB?
Re: Trent Williams
I was thinking if we do not get Williams why don’t we sign peters and draft our future tackle in the first and he can play left guard for a year or draft a right tackle and put O’Neil at left tackle and Reif at left guard

I honestly do not want Peters, he is injury prone and he is 38 years old, pass!

Re: Trent Williams
Reiff is an OK LT but he's not an All-pro. And yes, we do have other positions of need but we can address those positions in the draft. Whereas there's no way one of the top LT's will fall to us. Just my thoughts.StumpHunter wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 2:43 pmThere is a very good chance Washington wouldn't want Reiff back in a trade.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 10:50 am

Re: Trent Williams
Some tackles don't translate to guard, but I am totally with you on the idea of drafting a tackle that also has guard skills.

Re: Trent Williams
I see about zero chance Washington wouldn't want Reiff in a Williams deal. He's solid and would only cost them 8.8 million which is cheap for a starting LT.Dakotavike wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 3:29 pmReiff is an OK LT but he's not an All-pro. Dan Patrick: Trent Williams will be traded for a 1st round pick

Hard pass.

Well yeah, that would be way too steep if it’s true. Although I personally doubt they’ll be able to pull that off.Texas Vike wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 3:57 pmPete Smith

Re: Trent Williams
I would be beyond shocked if that were to happen. Even their fans are willing to settle for a 3rd round draft pick. If they were to somehow get a first I bet it would be for next year and have them sending a 3rd or second back to the team giving them the future first.Dakotavike wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 5:02 pmWell yeah, that would be way too steep if it’s true. “Interesting thought here. Maybe we have a three team trade in the works. Harris to the browns, Williams to us and picks to Washington. Browns get their safety and draft a top LT with their 1st pick in draft. We get our LT and then grab a safety (Winfield?) with one of our two 1st rounders. And Washington gets rid of Williams and some draft capital in return. Seems like a win for all involved.
