Now that our QB problems are fixed...

Post by VikingHoard »

First off, I want to congratulate the front office for finally fixing our QB situation. As fans we've had many tough years watching our team flounder, knowing we could never go far without a real quarterback, seeing talent on the team go to waste...

But now that's all behind us! I've taken a lot of time to think about this but after examining all the evidence I honestly think anyone who isn't thrilled with what we've got at QB right now, (provided of course, they aren't fans of rival teams lol), is either crazy or simply doesn't understand football. I fully expect all the comments we've seen over the years from the negative nancy's on this board to soon become but a dim memory.

As for our current situation, now that there's no more questions about the QB I think the real question we are all asking ourselves, (even if some of us might not want to admit it lol), is will we win out? Okay, our last game was hardly a convincing win and shows just how our defense lets teams stay in the game right up to the end even when our offense is scoring a lot of points. So perhaps the question could be rephrased as "Will we win out with this defense?". Winning out the last 11 games is never easy to do, for any team. There's always issues that come up, players that get injured, or even just unlucky ball bounces that can snap a streak at any time along the way. Still, my heart says this team can do it. So what do you guys think?

PS - If you vote, please explain the reason for your opinion in the thread. Thank you.

Our QB situation is in no way fixed.
Whenever i step outside, somebody claims to see the light
It seems to me that all of us have lost our patience.
'cause everyone thinks they're right,
And nobody thinks that there just might
Be more than one road to our final destination--

The QB situation is not fixed. At least, it hasn't proven to be fixed. For all we know it is or it isn't. Only time will tell. Plus, I don't see us "winning out" thats 12 more games. I think if Ponder doesn't start we can go 8-4 the rest of the way, but I don't see us winning out.

This is the most hilarious thread title I've seen on this board. Kudos!

I didn't vote (although if I did it would be that we wouldn't "win out" The mere fact that we'd need to go 12-0 to finish is nearly impossible. This is not an indictment against Freeman. <Insert your favorite QB Here> could lead this team and we wouldn't go 12-0.

Second, I'm not sure we have the QB situation "fixed." I hope we do. I'm glad we are moving away from Ponder because her certainly isn't the "fix", but I'd say it's a little premature to "crown" Freeman as the "fix" for our QB situation. To put winning out in perspective, the two best teams in 'recent' memory for the Vikings were the '98 and '09 squads. Neither were able to win 12 games in a row.

I'm going to save some of the more naive members the embarrassment of posting a serious reply to this post by explaining that the OP is clearly just being funny, displaying a deadpan style of humor often referred to as "dry humor" or "sarcasm".

Some of you may have heard of it, some may even recognize it when you see it but sadly many will not and I fear that, without my interjection, many here will humiliate themselves and their families by responding seriously to this post/poll. :nono:

I don't think they have the talent to run the table (especially on defense) and there are nothing but questions at QB. We don't even know who will start this weekend. At this point, I'm more concerned about their ability to win the next game and than I am about their ability to win out.

It's hard to recognize dry humor of this sort when equally ridiculous comments are posted here seriously all the time.

That will have to serve as my excuse for not recognizing the true nature of the OP when I read it. :)
