*sigh*

If we don't get at LEAST pick #25 I'm going to be :steamed:

So, let me get this straight, we had one of the worst receiving corps in the entire NFL last season. Wallace is going to Miami. Jennings reportedly wants warmer climate and to "have a (good) QB." Bowe re-signed with KC. Jenkins was released. This is going to leave a Loadholt-sized hole. I know some were speculating that we could come out ahead by losing Harvin. I think we have just as much of a chance at being even worse if/when we lose Harvin.

Guess we'll be looking long and hard at: Cruz (unlikely), Alexander, Amendola, Hixon & Gibson and a plethora of draft picks.

We need to be adding, not subtracting playmakers.

I'm so :steamed: :steamed:

Percy Harvin - WR - Vikings

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Vikings are "trying to trade" Percy Harvin, and are "in discussions" with the Seahawks.

Schefter doesn't name other teams, but says the Seahawks are "favored." It's a bombshell report that confirms months of rumos and innuendo. Among the most aggressive and unconventional teams in the league, we wouldn't be surprised if the Seahawks have already offered a strong package for the gifted receiver. Harvin with Russell Wilson would be an impossibly dangerous duo. Unless Harvin has become one of the biggest headaches in league history behind the scenes, there's not a single scenario where trading him would be a net gain for the Vikigns.

An NFL source confirms #Vikings are in talks with #Seahawks about Percy Harvin and leans toward it happening.

Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE Percy fan. I have enjoyed watching him the last few seasons. He is a great player and deserves to make good money. I am guessing that the absence of any other good receiver in Minny has given him a big head. Percy has failed to play an entire season, and when hes not on the field the Vikes seem to find a way to win. I realize he is going to be traded, theres no way around it. Sounds like hes headed to Seattle to reunite with Bevell. All we can hope for is a 1st rounder or something good. Boy Percy is can be a headache. Get it :point:

if any of this is true....good riddance.

i love his heart and ability, but the Vikings have treated like gold IMO and there is no way to justify this kind of stance for a guy just finishing up his rookie contract. perhaps they should have extended him last season...i dunno. can't believe i'd ever be posting this.

but if it's true...like DP said, they better get a bunch for him in a trade. grrrr :wallbang:

The Vikings screwed up. They normally don't trade their premier players until after I've bought their jersey :P.

Not certain yet, but this link indicates:
Terms of the deal, which will be finalized when the league’s new year begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday, were not yet available, however, Schefter reports that a trade “was expected to include Seattle’s 2013 first-round draft pick (No. 25).” CBS Sports reports that Seattle’s seventh-round pick this year as a mid-round pick in 2014 also are included.

I started this thread and now I am here to end it.

I think we came out fine given the complications of the situation. As I suspected, one of the major problems was PH´s lack of confidence in Ponder. When I pointed it out, it ruffled feathers here. Most importantly, this FO is consistently looking for high character guys and PH did not fit with that philosophy. He created strife and division, not the kind of guy we want to build around.

I am excited to see how Spielman continues to reshape this team with all of these picks.
