The Pepsi 8 Pack can seriously go suck it
Seriously. All the food and beverages I like to drink come in smaller packages, in smaller amounts at the same prices. I first noticed this with my favorite brand of potato chips, which lost more and more ounces to the point where they were selling the 9 ounce bag for 50 cents more than the old skool 13 ounce bag. The it happened to Andy Capp's hot fries. And then all hell broke loose. Every pork rind and potato chip company in the business got in on this thievery.
Then it was orange juice and milk. And now Pepsi!
ENOUGH.
I am not dumb enough to pay the same amount of money for an 8 or 18 pack that I do for a 12 or 24 pack of anything else.
Stop selling me the loaves of bread with 4 less slices and the jar of jelly with thicker glass so it holds less ounces and the peanut butter can with the big effing indent on the bottom so it hardly has any actual, you know, MOTHERLOVING PEANUT BUTTER in it.
Arrgh!
Just trying to sneakily raise prices on people.
Bunch of dirtbags!

I know what your saying about companies and the way they market things today.
Unfortunatly the problem of all these CEO's and such having no ethics and burning people
is not getting fixed yet.

There need to be some serious regulations that come down from up-top (ie congress etc) that smooths some of thsees thigns out. I am so sick of every CEO making hundreds of millions every year for doing nothing, while their companies struggle or go under. I'm sure the Pepsi CEO is in his bazillion dollar house not even caring about the rest of his company, or his employees.

I've always seen their prices on soda to be higher then you can get at other stores. They're selling it a tick above cost, but the groceries sell it at as a loss leader.Allenfreak69 wrote:yeah and at some places (sams club) they even make 36 packs of pepsi products. i have never bought one but i have seen a few people with them.

Has nobody else noticed that something like 60% of Americans today are overweight and more than 30% are clinically obese? For over 40 years manufacturers have grown packages of junk food to ridiculous sizes.
We used to have 8 oz bottles of soda. Now 20 oz and 32 oz are most common. 64 oz Big Gulps? I'm not even sure you can buy individual 12 oz cans any more in a convenience store.
We need smaller, not bigger. If you're young and still of 'normal' weight (which has in itself grown substantially in the last 50 years) then do yourself a favor and don't get into the habit of sucking down quarts of sugar water and 1/2 lb bags of grease laden chips. It _WILL_ catch up to you, and it's not pretty.

eating more food is a reason that americans gain weight, but not the main one. We just have gotten so lazy and never exercise anymore. i don't have any weight problems and i eat a lot. probably near 5000 calories a day. i won't lie and say that is all healthy food. the truth is most of it isn't. all i do is execise by running alot. it really makes it a lot harder to become fat. if you drink a 64 oz big gulp and run 8 miles afterward daily you will be less fat than those who drink a 12 oz can but don't exercise.

8 miles a day? Screw that. I hate doing 4 or 5 three times a week. Well, it could be that I am doing it at 0500 and its 30some degrees out.
Anyhow, people who overeat will overeat regardless. Why should I have to pay more for less in the process?

i didn't say that you had to run 8 a day, just picked that as an example. and i think that we are paying more for less due to inflation. i'm no economist so there is a pretty good chance that is wrong but that's my theory.

Just because you aren't heavy doesn't mean you're healthy. At the very least, you should try to watch the processed food and the trans fat.Allenfreak69 wrote:eating more food is a reason that americans gain weight, but not the main one. exercising will help with a lot of that too. it helps your metabolism going and heart up pumping which right there protects against a lot of disease and gets your general health up. and it also helps to remember to listen to your body, if it hurts then give it a break. when you are trying to just get healthier, the expression "no pain, no gain," is not very correct. that is more for if you are training like an nfl player would do.
