Re: Draft Day Discussion

makila wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 6:29 pm Agree with others. It's good that koc is legit addressing the area that keeps costing us. And he can recognize where the flaws are.

Seems like he's had more input the last two off seasons on roster changes.
In a sentence: It's time for the Vikings to stop being soft.

Re: Draft Day Discussion

It is going to be interesting to see if Vikings are going to trade down and get more picks or just use all the picks without trading down One silver lining of only having 4 picks is that you can probably draw a lot of interest from agents for undrafted players. There will opportunity for a couple g...

Re: Offseason Thread

A contract is being discussed with Ryan Tannehill. Not sure if an agreement will be reach but I think he would be a good backup. Talks are ongoing between the Vikings and Tannehill, but nothing is imminent. Tannehill, an 11-year NFL veteran, did not play last season. From 2012 to '23 with the Miami...

Gave up #160 and 2026 6th. We got the #187 back with Mason.

This is a big move. This guy should be the bell cow and Jones the 3rd down back.

Re: 49ers at Vikings

It would be interesting if Sam Darnold, who knows first hand how hard it can be when you are in the wrong situation, decided he wanted to play for the Vikings after this season and accepted a longterm deal at an absurdly low figure for an NFL QB, on condition that he have a no trade clause. It would...

Re: 49ers at Vikings

Blake Cashman played great in the passing game. Getting underneath three passes to knock the ball away, one of which went for the INT. I thought last year the Vikings fielded one of their best teams in recent memory. The wins weren't always there, and the QB play and injuries were a tough thing to o...

Re: Vikings at Giants

Seems we are seeing the development of some of what Flores showed last year on defense. That side of the ball, I think, is legit. I'm not yet convinced that the offense is there, but the way they ran the ball gave some cause for hope. If the QB play can be better than average, I think the rest of th...

Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

I'm pretty interested to see what Flores is gonna do with this roster full of tweener, edge/olb guys. I feel confident Turner plays DE. Maybe they play two tackles and then surround Pace with three guys that have edge rush ability and enough versatility to drop. How many of these guys can he get on ...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

The contrast between the media evaluation of players, which is known to us, and the team's internal evaluations, which are not known to us, drive most of the passionate opinions come draft day. A GM can make all the right decisions and the outcome still be terrible. This is because so much depends o...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

I'm not sure how savvy KAM might be. But, NFL execs/GMs/coaches definitely have more intel than us folks. Is it possible the trade up for pick 23 is for a QB at 23? They know they're not getting Williams & maybe KOC doesn't see one of the remaining five of those six QBs as being a substantially...

I still think 11 is way too high for Nix even though I think he's a good choice there, but QB inflation being what it is I wouldn't be terribly upset if KAM takes him there.
I truly doubt Nix makes it past 3-4.

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

Williams, Daniel's, Nix and McCarthy are probably the first four picks. Maye also gone before 11. Penix I think would be there at 11 or 23.

Re: 2024 Free Agents

I see it differently Char... Maybe at 11, Could they be trading back and landing multiple picks? I have to believe that they have done their homework and have a few avenues in place. Greenard and Van Ginkel are immediately starting on the edges. Greenard is less $ than Hunter, is here for 4 years, ...
