Re: Bonser’s injury was worse than expected; season likely over

That's too bad for Boof. But it won't affect me much. I plan on engaging in a personal (i.e., one-person) boycott of the Major League baseball season. I may end it at the All-Star game, but in any event, I'm hoping to pay less attention to baseball this year.

I don't think the jerks who have run ...

Re: Longtime Twins owner Carl Pohlad, 93, dies

Article

Well, he did a lot of good for baseball in Minnesota. It will be interesting to see how the Twins are run with his sons in charge. I do feel bad that he didn't get to see the new stadium he wanted.

RIP Carl!!

I'm surprised to see so few posts in this thread. Presumably, it reflects ...

Re: I got a promotion

This is a tough time in the economy. It's nice to see someone got a promotion -- or got hired.

Yesterday, I heard about a government agency that's hiring two lawyers, and received 600 applications for those jobs. Crazy stuff.

It was a nice run, given the talent level. But tonight's game still hurts -- not the way I wanted to start the Jewish New Year. :(

Re: Twins

Two in a row blown to the Royals. Key double plays to Morneau and Mauer down the stretch with runners in scoring position.

Are the Twins trying to maximize torment to their fans? If so, they're succeeding.

On the other hand ... I guess the release is coinciding with the Twins demise. It's "sweep or bust" for those guys.

Good for you!! I hope this book does well for you. :beerchug:

Well ... as much as I am pulling for the book, I'm glad Vikings fans have an excuse not to buy it -- it looks like after today, people might actually want to tune into the games rather than read books.

Anyway, hopefully there's time ...
